DAILY LESSON PLAN

TLE – 8 Dressmaking/Tailoring (Exploratory Course)

March 13, 2019 (8:45 am – 9:45 am) – GRADE 8 LOVE

I. OBJECTIVES
In this lesson, students are expected to:
 Obtain accurate measurements.
 Measure parts of the body using appropriate measuring tools.
 Appreciate the importance of obtaining accurate measurements.

II. CONTENT
Topic: Lesson 2: Carry Out Measurements and Calculations
Learning Outcome 1: Obtain Measurements

Materials: Printed pictures, tape measure, activity sheets, sample ready-made clothes

“SEWING KIT” – Students will identify the pictures of sewing tools in
their designated classification.

“MOLD ME” – Students will connect the human body parts and label it.

B1. Presentation/Discussion
 Introduction of the topic
- Importance of obtaining accurate measurement
- Procedure of obtaining body measurement
- Parts of the body to be measured
 The teacher will demonstrate on how to measure
body parts accurately.
 The teacher will get a student to perform the
demonstration
B2. Activity
Objective: Students will be able to get their measurement through
a paired activity using English and Metric System.
Materials: tape measure, activity sheets
Procedure: Students will record all their measurements according
to the following system.
C. Evaluation
Objective: Students will be able to identify body parts to be
measured on a given task through a sample tailored clothes and obtain
its measurement.
Materials: tape measure, pencil
Procedure: - Students will be divided into four groups
- Students will identify parts to be measured
on a given task through a sample tailored clothes and obtain its
measurement.

V. ASSIGNMENT/AGREEMENT

 Bring a sample tailored clothes that you own and


get the measurement of its body parts.
