Yes ma’am!
 All right that’s true.
 As I see it. Majority of the class
enjoys the activity.

Indicator 3- Use effective verbal and

non-verbal classroom
communication strategies to support
learner understanding, participation,
engagement and achievement.

perform. Let’s clap our hands once
and say- very good. Clap twice- say

Indicator 4- Establish safe and
secure learning environments to
enhance learning through the
consistent implementation of
policies, guidelines and procedures

 Class, let us familiarize as well our

classroom policies and guidelines,
since we are still in alert level 2 of
this time of pandemic. Everybody
let us read:

rules.

 So, class are you ready now for our

lesson?

C. Lesson Proper
a. Motivation
 Class, I have here different
pictures.

 what do you see in this picture? Different tyles of sleeves

ma’am.
Yes, Ma’am

Making sleeves, ma’am.

 These sleeves are of different

styles and we are going make one
of these sleeves.
 Are you excited?
 So, do you have idea about our
lesson today?

b. Discussion
 Today we are about to discuss
about drafting basic sleeve
foundation patterns.
 Let us examine our objectives for
today.

At the end of the lesson student should be

able to;

1. Name the steps in drafting basic

sleeve foundation patterns
2. Observe accuracy in measurement
3. Draft basic sleeve foundation
pattern.

Sleeve- It is the part of a garment

that wholly or partly covers a
person's arm.

 Let us learn today steps in drafting

basic sleeve foundation patterns.

Steps in basic sleeve foundation

pattern:

 Usually when drafting a sleeve block

you would use the front and back
bodice pieces as this will ensure that
the sleeve block you draft fits neatly
with the bodice block.
 To start with you’ll want to take some
basic sleeve pattern measurements.
These are the absolute necessary ones
for your sleeve block:

1. STEPS in Taking Sleeve

Measurement

 Sleeve length measurement

 Girth Measurement

 Arm hole Measurement

Body parts Measurement

Indicator 9- Adapt and use culturally
appropriate teaching strategies to
address the needs of learners from
indigenous groups***

In Ancient times, ORIGIN OF PHILIPPINE

CLASSIFIERS. It is possible that Subanen
languages developed classifiers via
internal evolution whereby some nouns
were grammaticalized and became noun
class markers. This would account for the
difference in form of the classifier used for
humans between W. Subanon and N.
Subanen. However, this does not account
for the similarities in form of the general
classifier across Subanen languages and
Cebuano. This leads to the hypothesis
that the motivations for the development
of classifiers in these languages was
external. Aikhenvald points out that “the
creation and restructuring of noun
categorization often results from language
contact” (382), and that this can take the
form of direct borrowing or indirect
diffusion. Sortal classifiers are more telling
than mensural classifiers in this puzzle, as
they constitute a less open class of
lexemes.
c. Development Activities
(Abstraction/ Generalization)
After drafting the basic pattern check it
correctly and accurately, especially the:
(1) Measurement and (2) Parts of pattern
pieces; and then, cut the basic pattern
following the cutting lines smoothly.

In doing the steps we have to take the

body measurements first. The parts of the
body to be measured are in the Arm part,
we have:

1. Armhole

2. sleeve

3. girth

and then follow the steps in making

patterns

d. Synthesis (Application)
This time, show how much you’ve learned
from pattern drafting. Be ready with your
IMC, measuring tools or drafting tools and
your procedure.

Let us be guided with the following

rubrics:

Activity 2- Draft the sleeve foundation

Sleeve Length 10
Girth 9÷2

Indicator 1- Apply knowledge of

content within and across curriculum
teaching areas

Grade 7 Math MELCS- Approximates the

measures of quantities particularly length,
weight/mass, volume, time, angle and
temperature and rate.

Lesson 1: Measure of Length

The fundamental unit of length in the

metric system is the meter. To measure
small objects like the thickness of a book,
a paper clip, or a microchip, use
millimeters. To measure longer objects,
like the length of a pencil, or a book use
centimeter. To measure much longer
lengths, like the length of a flagpole, or a
piece of land, use meters. To measure the
distance between towns, use kilometers

Suppose you were asked to measure a

pencil. What are you going to do? Place
the tip of the pencil above the point of the
ruler marked 0, then read the
measurement above the other end of the
object. Then the measure of the pencil to
the nearest cm is 4. On the other hand,
the measure of the pencil to the nearest
mm is 40.

So if you measure using tape measure.

Inches are being taken.

IV- EVALUATION
Activity 1. From the given pictures, name the steps in taking sleeve
measurements:

Sleeve length Girth length Armhole length

Activity 2: Draft the pattern using the given measurement

Body parts Measurement
Armhole 15÷2
Sleeve Length 11
Girth 10÷2

V- Assignment
Study the pattern drafting in blouse and skirt.
