I. Objectives

At the end of the discussion, the students must be able to:

A. Identify active recreation and the categories of recreational activities (Indoor and Outdoor)
B. Describe how participation in active recreation contributes to the achievement of a healthy life
C. Write an essay about their recreational activity experiences

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Active Recreation: Recreational activities (indoor and outdoor)

Before we start with our lesson for this morning, let us
first have a short recap about the discussion we had last
meeting.

Last meeting we had a discussion about festival dance and


its kinds. The religious and non-religious festival.

Okay, for this afternoon we are going to have another


discussion in Physical education, our first lesson for the 4th
quarter.

2. Activity

The teacher will ask the students to look for a partner


and discuss the things/ activities they do when they have
free time.

The teacher will ask the pairs of students to complete


the table below.

Sir, we engage in these activities because they are all form of
relaxation and with these, we can also develop our healthy
lifestyle.

B. What advantages can we obtain when engaging in


these activities? (refer to the initial activity)

4. Abstraction
Today we are going to learn about active recreation.
Who can define what active recreation is?
Active recreation is a voluntary participation in an activity
during free and unobligated time that gives enjoyment.

Very good.

(The teacher will then discuss the topic)

As stated earlier by your classmate, active recreation is a


voluntary participation in an activity during free and
unobligated time that gives enjoyment. It refreshes one’s
mind and body after a day’s work. Recreation embraces
both indoor and outdoor activities that refers to sports and
exercise leading to the attainment of enjoyment as well as
managing your desired weight.

5. Application

The teacher will ask the students to apply their learning


by engaging in the activity below.

In a 1 whole sheet of paper, identify the kind of wound


shown in the pictures below and write a short description
about them. Write your answers in a paragraph form.

students to read their output to the class.)
