Company & Industry
When we discuss the origins & structure of how we came up with the idea of this venture, it
was a collective brainchild of everyone involved in this project. Our main departmental heads
have had a friendly relation with our company’s Executive Director before the launch of this
company & one fine afternoon while we were out on a dinner, we discussed the idea of this
venture for the first time ever. Our Executive Director Mr. Salman talked about how currently in
the video game market only two companies have had a strong hold over everything; Microsoft &
Sony with their gaming consoles Xbox & PlayStation respectively so he discussed whether it
was possible for a new company to enter the market and eventually rival these companies by
coming up with a new innovative technology that was never-seen before to which our eventual
Research & Development department head Mr. Vohra stated that with the appropriate amount of
capital invested & by hiring some of the best video game technicians and engineers, it was
possible to create a new groundbreaking technology in the form of a new gaming console that
could not only rival Xbox & PlayStation but could also eventually make the makers of that
gaming console the market leader in the video game industry. He made this statement through
the extensive research he conducted over the years on video game technology. When this

revelation was made all of our departmental heads mutually became interested & eventually
agreed to actually invest in this idea and decided to create the organization Puzzles Ltd. Since
our Executive Director Mr. Salman was the person who invested the most amount of capital in
this venture, had the largest share in the company, and was the one who first started the
conversation which led us to launch the company, he served as the founder & executive director
of the company while the rest of us served as the main departmental heads of the company
respectively. We hope to make this a customer oriented venture and see ourselves competing
If we briefly discuss the characteristics of the industry we are competing in, we are hoping to
become one of the market leaders in the video game industry. The main competitors of our
console would be Sony with its PlayStation 4, Microsoft with its Xbox 1, and Nintendo with its
Switch. As of 2018, Sony leads the pack in terms of market share with about 50% of the market
after which we have Nintendo with about 28% of the market share, and finally that leaves

department head Mr. Khan is well known for his creative ideas and thinking outside the box
when it comes to introducing and implementing new marketing strategies. Plus, he has relevant
experience in the field of marketing taking part in several marketing related projects & serving as
one of the marketing representatives in a start-up shoe company named Butaan. Mr. Khan also
knows over 3 languages so that also serves as a plus point for the marketing head of our venture.
Our Finance department head, Mr. Inam is well known for his analytical skills and has been
serving as the Executive Manager for Haryali Entrepreneurs Market for several years now so he
has relevant experience in the field of management & finance. Our Research & Development
department head, Mr. Vohra has always had a keen interest in the field of market research and
has been a part of several organizations like Paitoo & Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry
(LCCI) serving as a research intern so he too has relevant experience in the field of research. If
we discuss the background of our Human Resource department head, Mr. Ali; he is well known
for his excellent communication, management, and people skills. Mr. Ali too has relevant
experience related to the field of Human Resources since he completed several projects related to
HR in his university over the course of his bachelor’s degree & served as an intern in the HR
department of Tabish Corporation. Our production department head, Mr. Hussain too is highly
qualified and has relevant experience in the manufacturing sector since he currently serves as the

practicality, and productivity and is definitely the right man for the job having extensive past
startup company, and served as the president of the Rotary International Club between 2010-

The general operations for the manufacturing and selling of our gaming console will include the
demand, and assessment and quality checks of each and every console through various tests. We
will also have an IT team who will be developing the software kernel (operating systems) of

Our Puzzles Dreamcast team will make sure to run tests on the materials provided by various
different vendors, which will include quality checks, costing, and consistency of delivery,
payment procedures and more. The operations in the procurement department will be to have key
checks on the incoming of parts, maintaining a partnership with suppliers, being in contact with
them, collaborating with sales, marketing, finance and other departments to make sure the supply
chain is consistent with the demand brought from the end consumers.
Various different parts are required in our Puzzles Dreamcast gaming console, and since we aim
to maintain a high standard, never seen before quality and innovation. These parts will include a
user control interface, CPU, RAM, software operating system, storage medium, video and
output, joysticks & buttons for the remote, and a consistent power supply.
A Just-In-Time sort of a system will be kept for inventory management to reduce the costs. But,
in order to deal with a high influx of demand, a safety buffer stock of raw materials will be kept
There will be a consistent assembly line producing and assembling the parts together to make
the finalized product of Puzzles Dreamcast. An easy to assemble case of the gaming console will
be used so that the engineers can easily assemble and plan the assembly line in a flow that does

Puzzles Dreamcast will have a Total Quality Management (TQM), along with quality assurance
and quality control, which would keep a check on quality of the gaming console at all the points
through the operations, from procurement to the delivery of the final good.
Various different tests will be run to make sure no physical, technical or any other sort of risk or
harm is inflicted onto our users, distributors, suppliers, and the company itself.

Puzzles Dreamcast will also make sure to have consistent cash flows operations so that easy
