Medical Device

Medical devices (RI Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning health) are instruments,
apparatus, machines, implants that contain drugs, which are used to prevent, diagnose, cure
and alleviate diseases, treat sick people and restore health to humans and or to form structures
and improve bodily functions.

1976 Date. September 6, 1976: Medical Devices are goods, instruments, apparatus or tools
including each component, part or equipment that is produced, sold or intended for use in:

1. Maintenance and health care, diagnosis, healing, relief / prevention of diseases,

abnormalities in the body or symptoms in humans.
2. Recovery, repair or change in bodily functions or human body structures.
3. Diagnosis of pregnancy in humans / maintenance during pregnancy and after
childbirth, including baby maintenance.
4. Efforts to prevent pregnancy in humans and those not included in the class of drugs.

TYPES OF HEALTH EQUIPMENT

a. ABBOCATH
The function of this needle is to insert the outer abocath made of plastic. after everything
goes into a vein then the inner needle will be removed and only the outside inside the
blood vessel. because it is this outer part that will later function as an entrance for
intravenous fluids or other.
b. BAG and MASK
Used to help or make breathing oxygen in the balloon must be pressed to enter the
patient's lungs
c. BAK INSTRUMENT
Serves to store operating equipment that has been sterile
d. HEAT MONTHS
Hot bladder is a rubber bottle filled with hot water to compress the affected part such as
the waist, joints and relieve pain for women who have PMS
e. DEPPRES
Serves to clean the area to be injected
f. VERBAN SCISSORS
Function as a bandage scissors is a corner-ended scissors with a blunt tip. This scissors
has a small head on the tip that is useful for making it easy to cut the bandage. This type
of scissors consists of knowles and listers. The base of the scissors is longer and is used
very easily in bandage cutting. The blunt ends are designed to prevent accidents when
removing bandages. In addition to forming and cutting the bandage just before closing
 the wound, this scissor is also safe to use to cut the bandage when the bandage has been
placed over the wound.
g. CATTLE HOSE
Catheter or Catheter is a tube that is inserted into the body to expel or enter fluid into the
body cavity. Most commonly, a catheter is inserted through the urethra into the bladder to
drain urine. This is used as an alternative to urinating for people who are confined to bed
or unable to control urination. If not careful, long-term use of the catheter can cause
urinary tract infections.
h. PLESTER
Plaster is useful to protect wounds from bumping, damaged, or dirty. Plaster is usually
covered by woven, plastic, or latex rubber which has a sticky ability.
i. OXYGEN TUBE
Oxygen cylinders are very helpful when humans are lacking O2, the use of oxygen
cylinders in hospital installations is usually used for someone who is operating or having
asthma, but oxygen cylinders can also be used for divers, divers usually use small
oxygen cylinders placed on their backs divers, are being installed hospitals, health
centers or clinics oxygen cylinders are placed at the bedside of the patient and in general
the oxygen cylinders used are large oxygen cylinders
j. NEEDLE TENSIMETER
Tensimeter function (Sphygmomanometer) is to measure blood pressure that works
manually when pumping or reducing pressure on the cuff. Normal normal human blood
pressure is 100-130 mmHg for systolic pressure and 60-90 mmHg for diastolic pressure.
k. SPATEL
The function of the Spatel tongue or tongue depressor is to press the tongue, to be able to
see more clearly the situation in the throat, whether there are abnormalities, for example
there are inflammation such as pharyngitis, tonsils, etc.
