Electrical Design Engineer - EHV Substation/switchyard/GIS

The position will be based out of Hyderabad .We are seeking an experienced Electrical design
engineer who can act as a senior figure within the design team. You will be responsible for
Electrical design activates within living spaces (Substation, High voltage system
(380/132/33kV/13.8kV), Outdoor Switchyards & Gas insulated switchgear GIS)
Computer skills: MS Excel, AutoCAD, Dialux, e-tap, CYMGrd and CDEGS

Requirements:

 Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering


 5 to 8 years’ experience in electrical design of High voltage system, Outdoor
Switchyards, Transmission line & Electrical Substation Design is required.
 Designing of 380/132/33kV, 380/115/13.8kV, 132/33kV, 132/13.8kV and 115/13.8kV
Substations.
 Switchyard lighting, Lightening Calculations (Rolling sphere method, DSLP) & IEEE80
earthing calculations, Sag Calculations, Short circuit force calculations, ACSR Condor
sizing calculations, NER Calculations.
 MV Cable sizing and Ampacity calculations. Sheath Induced voltage calculations.
 Designing of Main Grounding/Earthing grid by using CYMGrd, CDEGS software
 Preparation of Single line diagram (SLD).
 Selection and sizing of Switchyard equipment’s (LA, CT, PT, Isolator, Transformer
 Strong knowledge on Substation SCADA, FOTE, Power Line Carrier Communication
(PLCC).
 Knowledge in Engineering Specification and Standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.).
 Load Flow Studies, Short circuit study calculations and breaker selection by using e-tap
software.
 Station Service transformer (Auxiliary Transformer) sizing, Battery and Battery Charger
sizing calculations.
 Preparation of Outdoor Equipment layout and sections, Gantry layout & sections,
Earthing layout, Lighting Layout, Cable tray.
 Preparation of GIS Equipment layout & sections, 13.8kV Switchgear layout & sections,
Battery room layout & sections, Control room equipment layout & sections,
Communication equipment layout & sections.
 Saudi/KSA project experience is must

Responsibilities:

 Coordinating the work of Electrical Engineers with the balance of a multi-disciplined


team throughout a project's development.
 Coordinating workload to complete documents on schedule.
 Tracking the financial aspects of projects, coordinating and adjusting the work effort with
the team to ensure that the work is completed within budget.
 Conducting schematic, design development and contract document working sessions
with clients.
 Establishing and maintaining client relationships, participate in marketing, design and
production meetings with regard to electrical systems.
 Conducting reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Acting as a
mentor for junior staff members.
