II. MOTIVATION (15 minutes)
Activity 1. 4 PICS 1 WORD
The teacher will choose a representative wo answer the
activity. The student will think of a word that corresponds
the four pictures given.

students about the pictures until they will come up with
the idea about the topic.

III. DELIVERY/INSTRUCTION (40 minutes)


Lecture
Discuss the music periods of China, explain the functions
of music in the lives of Chines people and explain
different vocal and instrumental music.
IV. PRACTICE (20 Minutes)

Activity 2: RECALL
The class will be divided into 4 groups. They will answer
the following and select a representative to report their
answer to the class.

Group 1 and Group 2


 Why is traditional Chinese music pentatonic?
 What are the five noted of the pentatonic Chinese
scale?
 What instruments are used to signal the entrances
and endings of a composition?
Group 3 and 4
 List down five Chinese musical instruments and
classify them according to the Hornbostel and Sachs
system.
 Describe the charateristics and style of playing of
each instrument.

V. ENRICHMENT (20 minutes)

Activity 3:
The group will explain and observe the sound
characteristics and playing style of the instrument they are
given.

VI. EVALUATION (15 minutes)

Directions: Draw  if the statement is TRUE and  if the


statement is FALSE.
 1. The Chinese musical instruments have eight categories
according to the material used.
