The boy in the striped Pyjamas is a dramatic movie. It was directed by Mark Herman and
produced by David Heyman,

This movie is based on the book by the Irish author John Boyne.

In 2007 and 2008 it was the best selling book of the year in Spain.

the film adaptation premiered in 2008.

It was filmed in Budapest, Hungary.

The script was created by the same director with the collaboration of the author of the novel.

The soundtrack has been created by James Horner representing an important and suspenseful
part.

 The international premiere took place during the 56th edition of the San Sebastian Festival.

It does not have great special effects. But the movie has a great plot that makes us enjoy.

This movie describes the Holocaust during World War II.In my opinion, it is one of the best
films about the Nazi holocaust.The story is about Bruno.

BRUNO

Bruno: is the protagonist of the story.He is nine years old

He is a very restless, talkative and outgoing child who likes to explore and likes to make
friends.

 Bruno is sad to receive the bad news that he has to move to Auschwitz.

Bruno doesn't like the new idea, because the only entertainment he has is a swing made with a
tire or talking to his sister's unfriendly.

 The house has nothing special, until through the window of his room he discovers a kind of
farm,

One day he went out to explore the forest near his house, and discovered the long fence he
had seen from his room;He discovered a young boy his age, Shmuel.

SHMUEL. He is thin and has a shaved head.

Shmuel.He is being held at the Auschwitz concentration camp, with his family.

Shmuel is the same age as bruno, but they have a totally different life,

 Bruno is the son of a high position, while Shmuel is the son of Jews,. Both children become
best friends

After a year, Bruno's mother decides to return to Berlin,

That day, Bruno had gone to the fence with the intention of helping Shmuel find his father

 Bruno puts on the pajamas Shmuel had given him and he goes through the fence.

When they enter they are pushed by the soldiers and grouped together, they are taken to a
room with many more people dressed in the same uniform,

 Bruno and Shmuel do not know what will happen, but they both believe they live an
adventure whose purpose is to find their friend's father.

CRITICA

It is one of my favorite movies, since it tells the story of two children who, despite the fact
that their two races were in conflict, they joined and became friends.

It is a depressing and a bit cruel story but it teaches us about the great mistakes of humanity
and helps us to rethink discrimination against different people. I recommend this movie.
