The title is ,,The Boy in the Striped Pajamas''.The author's name is John Boyne.The
year of publication is 2008.The setting is at a German concentration camp in 1941.

The book is about a boy Bruno who moves with his family near a concentration
camp run by his father. Bruno was very bored so he went to explore and there he
met Shmuel, a sad child condemned to be a prisoner in the camp with his family
because they were Polish. The two boys became friends, Bruno brought Shmuel
food and sat with him secretly so that the guards wouldn't see him. One day Bruno
got an idea to enter the camp to see how is he there and to be able to spend more
time with Shmuel. Shmuel gets him some clothes and Bruno changes and sneaks
into the camp. That evening all the prisoners were called out for a march and then
they were put in a container .A gas appeared in the container and all the prisoners
were killed. Bruno's family searched for him for many days but he died in that
container without anyone knowing.

The characters are:

Bruno, a 9-year-old boy who is the son of a leader of a concentration camp and a
sister named Gretel. He has black hair, wears a white shirt, a beige vest, some
black shorts and some black shoes.

Shmuel, a 9-year-old Polish boy who is a prisoner of a concentration camp with his
family. He is dressed in white clothes with black stripes, he is blond and he is sad
because he is kept locked up because of Hitler.

The message of the book is that friendship is very strong, for example Bruno
entered the camp to be closer to Shmuel, his friend.The book made me feel happy
at one point when the boys became friends but then I felt sad because they died
stuck in that container and gassed by the guards.
