REFLECTION

We didn’t really experience what it feels like to be doing an outreach program outside
the premises of school, but we did have fun amidst the abrupt changes in the location.
I realized that doing this kind of programs could help and guide the community to be
better. The ‘thing’ that we did inside the school was okay but I think we could do better
if not because of the bad things that are happening in our town. I learned that
volunteering is not a joke and you shouldn’t do it because you need to, you should do it
because want to.

Doing programs needs a lot of preparation specially if you’re doing it in a highly

populated town. It needs patience since we should cope up with their ways. My
classmates didn’t really get along in the process, that’s why I learned that
communication is really the key to making programs successful. Due to the fact that we
needed to cancel our program in a baranggay was heartbreaking but I learned that my
safety is also needed in the process. At the time we were still preparing, there was a lot
of paper works and as a volunteer, you should have the audacity to do the task that
you need to do. Community engagement is something we need to try at least once in
our life.
