BEGINNING THE LESSON 5’

ACTIVITY 1
The teacher asks students to show her their homework. She asks them if they have any problems.
She calls up a student to tell her what they talked last lesson. She or He writes an example in the past
simple tense and put the same sentence into negative and interrogative form. The example is with
regular verbs.

Then teacher writes the example on the board:

Affirmative form ‘’ A doctor went twenty to ten.’’


She underlines verb and writes it with coloured chalk. She asks them to repeat the sentence after her.
She asks them what base form of this verb is. They recognize and say GO.
Then she writes questions.
Interrogative form ‘’ Did a doctor go twenty to ten?’’
Negative form ‘’A doctor did not go twenty to ten.’’
She waits them to copy and then she says that they make interrogative form with DID + SUBJECT +
verb in infinitive (they have already known what infinitive is).
And also negative form we make with SUBJECT + DID + not + verb in infinitive.
She also remind them meaning of verb went- je išao . There are two words in Bosnian language but in
English language it is only one word.
