Objective:
1. To enable the learner to be familiar with the cells and tissues found in the different organs
of the circulatory system
2. To enable the learner to observe the differences in the structure of the different blood
vessels of the human body.
Introduction:
The blood cannot perform its function of delivering essential substances to the
different tissues of the body without the help of the blood vessels and the heart. The blood
vessels conduct blood, while the heart acts as a pump in order to force blood thru the blood
vessels. There are different types of blood vessels. Each type is structurally distinct and each has
a specific purpose.
