Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

For me to transfer to UNLV this upcoming spring semester, I must do my first

attempt on the Praxis Core Exam. This is a requirement I must meet to continue my

journey towards achieving a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. The

passing score for Reading is 156, Writing is 162, and Math is 150. I must pass all three. If

I do not achieve the passing score, I may take each test again until I do.

Exam Preparation

Before I take the practice praxis exam, I read about it and study a little at Khan

Academy. I also have a plan to buy some flashcards that I have seen on Amazon or even

buy the book to study when the time came to take the real Praxis test. I want to do this

right and be able to pass at least one of them in the first try.

Exam Results

In Math, I score 30% which means that I need more improvement to pass the test,

if I'm honest it was more than I was expected, I'm not good in math, and I know that math

is going to be the hardest test for me to pass. In the reading test, I score 21% which

means that I need more improvement, it was lower than I expected. I was surprised about

it. Finally, in writing I score 43%, again, I need more improvement, but it was higher

than I was expected. My first language is not English and my grammar is not the best, so

I knew that it was going to be challenging for me.

Future Exam Preparation

To be able to pass this exam I’m planning to do a lot of things, I’m planning to do

Khan Academy to study at home, also I’m planning to enroll in the praxis core review at

CSN on fall semester or in my last semester at college which is spring 2021. I also going

to purchase a flashcard which helps me to study better than read a book.
