a) Identify health risks and other factors that affect
the function of the endocrine system.
In this activity, the students will download Quizlet
onto their smartphones or tablets. Working with a
partner, the students will identify 10 major health
risks that can impact the endocrine system (ex.
Infection, genetic disorder, or disease).
Using the Quizlet app, the students will identify their
10 factors on the front of their flash cards, on the
back side, they should explain how these
risks/factors will impact the endocrine system.
Students can use whatever research tools they
believe is necessary, such as textbooks or internet.
After they have finished completing their 10
flashcards, they should find one other group and

b) Identify guidelines for sleep, rest, nutrition, and
physical activity.
After learning about how rest, nutrition, physical
activity, and sleep are important for our bodies,
students should download the google docs onto
their smartphones or tablets.
Students will be required to work individually to
complete this assignment.
Students will choose a color to use to within the
google docs application. They should use this color
every time the type in the google docs, so it is easily
to identify who you are by your color. Additionally,
students should write their initials in the beginning
of their comments.
Once the student has picked their color, they should

using the “share” tool within the app, go over and
compare the risks between the two groups.
Technology
Technology Quizlet: can be downloaded from the app store or
from your internet browser to create flashcard sets
to help students’ study
write 4 tips (one for rest, one for nutrition, one for
physical activity, and one for sleep) within the
google docs.
(ex- KK (sleep)- It is recommended that the average
teenager gets around 8 to 10 hours of sleep every
night.)
After the students have written their four tips, they
should go back and read everyone else’s tips. They
should write in a star “*” (in the color they chose)
next to the tips that they already do and a “!” next
to the tips that they need to work on.

Google Docs: This application can be downloaded
from google play, the app store, or can be
downloaded onto a computer from your internet
browser. This application allows students to
write/edit on a document at the same time. Great
