Who can join?

● Anyone signed in with their NHA Google account
● The meeting organizer can manually admit/approve anyone not logged into an NHA Google account
● Guests in the waiting room requesting to join will be prompted to type their name for approval

Tips
● Teachers not using Google Classroom can email the Google Meet join information to parents using the Parent
● Communication App in myNHA
● To minimize the risk of an unknown party attempting to join, do NOT post the meeting link / phone number
publically

Create a Google Meet
Good for...

Ad-hoc meetings with individuals or groups up to 250 participants

1:250 screen sharing or video streaming

1:1 video streaming or screen sharing

Recording screen or video for posting to Google Classroom

Best Practices...

Teachers should remain on the call until all participants have left and can use presenter controls to
remove students from the meeting.

Join your meeting 15 minutes prior to the meeting time to prep your camera and microphone.

Only click the ‘Join Now’ button when you’re ready to have students join. Meet sessions become inactive
1-3 minutes after the last person leaves. This means, if you join 1-3 minutes before your meeting starts in
order to prep, you too will be locked out of your upcoming meeting for 1-3 minutes after you leave.

Teacher or presenter should attempt to re-join the Meet 5 minutes afterward to ensure no students
re-joined the Meet.

Good to know...

Host/Presenter can leave the meeting and students can stay and converse in the meeting if they are not
removed.

Host/Presenter can mute individuals in the call, but cannot unmute. Only the participant can unmute
themselves

Anyone can use the Dial-in information and PIN and call into the meeting.

The Meet stays active for 1-3 minutes after everyone leaves. Students can re-join without the teacher
knowing.
