COURSE SYLLABUS

I. Course Code : MATH002

II. Course Title : Trigonometry

III. No. of Units : 3

IV. Course Description:

This is a three unit that aims to provide the fundamental concepts in Trigonometry and its
principles which can be applied in the real world situation. It is also includes the study of
measurement of triangles and angles, circular and trigonometric functions and their graph,
trigonometric identities and equations, application of trigonometric functions and solution of right
triangles, solution of oblique triangles, exponential and logarithmic functions.

V. Objective:

After the end of the semester, the students must be able to:

1. State, illustrate and apply the concepts and principles of angles and triangles
2. Give, define, graph, use, solve and apply the circular, trigonometric, exponential and
logarithmic functions.
3. Find the solution of right and oblique triangles and apple them in real life situations.
4. State and prove the trigonometric identities and equations.
5. Prepare the students to gain insight into how trigonometry is applied in real world, for
further study of mathematics and physical sciences, appreciate the logical structure and
develop the mathematical thought and processes.
