Procedure: Maintenance Procedure


1. SUMMARY

1.1. The purpose of this procedure is to define the methods to maintain critical equipment to
ensure such equipment does not impact product quality or delivery schedules.
1.2. Preventive maintenance only applies to “Process Equipment”; these are defined as those
devices that are critical for maintaining continuing process capability (i.e., uninterrupted
service flow), and those machines and systems that the breakdown of which could adversely
impact product/service quality.
1.3. Emphasis shall be put on preventive maintenance (P/M), designed to ensure equipment
operates without unexpected down time or error.
1.4. The SSE Incharge is responsible for implementation and management of this procedure in
machinery.

3. PROCEDURE: MAINTENANCE

3.1. For machinery Preventive maintenance, tasks are based on manufacturer’s guidelines, but
may be overridden or altered to suit the specific needs, based on equipment usage. The
resulting records may take the form of logs, spreadsheets as deemed appropriate by the
SSE In-charge.
3.2. All PCs Laptops, Printers, Servers etc. maintenance are out sourced by Locomotive
Workshop, Northern Railway, Charbagh, Lucknow and Service provider has been
instructed to keep them fit for use with all the statutory requirements completed.
3.3. The Annual maintenance contract has been made with Agencies for Computer and Internet
Services, Printers, Electrical Gadgets and the record of maintenance work done is being
recorded. Minor works are identified and being done as and when required.
