Mobile Application for Creating
Subject Science
Grade Level 5th
Learning Objective 5.5 The student will investigate and understand that
organisms are made of one or more cells and have
distinguishing characteristics that play a vital role in
the organism’s ability to survive and thrive in its
environment. Key concepts include
a) basic cell structures and functions;
Pedagogy
Activity 1) Teacher will give a lesson about cell
structures and functions. This is supported
with handouts, textbooks, and web
supported media.
2) Students will use the Chegg-Flashcard+ app
to create flashcards of the different
structures and functions on the back
3) The app allows photos to be used as well. It
is up to the student on how in depth or
detail the flashcards will be.
4) The app also allows students to pre-load
other flashcards already added.
5) The teacher will review the student’s
flashcards to make sure that all of the key
concepts have been added as flashcards.

Technology Chegg Prep- study flashcards
This is a free app that allows students to create their
own digital flashcards, search other student
materials and flashcards, add images to their
flashcards to enhance learning, and help them study.

1) Students will use the kahoot app to create
quizzes in groups of 3 about cell structures
and functions.
2) Students will then take the other groups’
quizzes and see how they rank in difficulty
and how well they did.
3) Students will give peer reviews of the other
quizzes, to give feedback on their work.
4) Teacher will first review how to use kahoot
and then monitor the groups quiz making to
make sure the quizzes are appropriate.
Then the teacher will monitor the quiz
taking.
5) A brief review session will be given after the
activity.
Kahoot! Play & Create Quizzes
This free app allows students to create quizzes and
play them within the classroom. There are many
different functions, like a live function and a
homework function, that facilitate studying.
