The Beach

Theme:beach
So for my theme I was trying to think of something fun and
lighthearted, and I came up with beach! I thought of this
theme for a mixed choir. I think I came up with this idea
because I'm tired of being stuck in my house and I would
much rather be on the beach than stuck in my house. For my
theme of beach I'm thinking more of a trip to the beach in
the summer, and the overall happiness the ocean and sun can
bring someone!

Thats all I really want from
that song beacuse the rest
has nothing to do with the
beach. As for rockaway beach
it's very fun and I think a
great way to open a show.

So for the next song I

struggled just a bit trying
to find a song that related
to the theme but then
stumbled upon this song. I
think this song has
potential, after some cuts
because it's really long, to
be a good 2nd song while
providing some variability
in the music.

Okay so at first it may

sound weird as a ballad, but
I think it would actually be
really cool. It's not your
typical choral ballad but I
think it's really cool and
goes with the theme well.

So I envision this as an all
girls number with two
soloists, one singing and
one acting (similar to the
all girls group for fishers
when they did hard hard
hannah). I don't think it
should be a soloist singing
the whole time, just for
certain parts.

This would be the boys

number for the girls to
change. I think that the
soloist from the girls
number that was the actor
should stay on for a little
bit of this song, or
potentially the whole song.I
think the end of this song
could be combined with itsy
bitsy, similar to our show
this year with upside down
square biz. By the end the
girls should be on in there
new costume.
Beyond the sea

really cool closer. It seems
pretty calm at first and
then BOOM trumpets and crazy
dance breaks. Also who
doesn't know this song? It
would be a fun crowd
pleasing number and it could
even include some solos with
the actors from the girl/guy
number. I also thinks some
flips of the girls would be
cool!
Background
I think anything beach related would work well. For example
a board walk for the ballad, the ocean for the last number.
It might be fun to have the girls carry beach bags, or have
a beach ball added somewhere.Also using blue and green
lights.
Why this show?
I think this show could be a lot of fun to perform. It
doesn't have a serious life changing theme, and it's just
meant for fun. I know the show isn't perfect, but I think
with a few tweaks it could be! I also want to point out I
haven't seen any show choir do a show like this.
