Retribution

THEME-RETRIBUTION
So this can be applied to any sort
of storyline that displays hard work
or practice. My main idea was to
apply this to a show choir
storyline(yes very meta) but I
decided to change it and apply it to
a more sports theme. It’s best used
with team sports like volleyball or
basketball, so for this project, I will
be using the latter.
 OPENER
● This song by “Little River
Band” is both upbeat
enough(with tempo
tweaks) and has
interesting lyrics
regarding losing and
trying again.
● “Don’t you want to be
somebody”, “You can’t
run or hide”, “Beaten by
the queen of hearts
everytime”

Song#2- Work This Out(High School Musical 2)
● So this is where things get
fun. This is definitely
centered towards a bigger
show choir than us, but oh
well, we take what we can.
There could be a “timeskip”
of a few months where
there is an early costume
change. How? We either
have half the choir skip the
opener or a group walks out
at some point of the opener
and changes then.
● I love the mood of this
song. It kinda describes
working together even
when some have more
problems than others.
● Good solo potential with
good bits of comedy to be
sprinkled in between.
● “How did we get from the
top of the world to the
bottom of the heap?”
Love that line.
BALLAD-The Climb(Miley Cyrus)
● This song requires the least amount of explanation.
● It’s about overcoming hardships and trying with everything
you have.
● This song is here because of the message.
● I know it’s overdone. I agree. I couldn’t think of anything
else.
TRANSITION- I’m Still Standing/What Doesn’t Kill You Medley

CLOSER- Our Story/Hall of Fame Medley
● So I’m going to be honest,
this is my favorite part of
the show. Because in my

reclaiming glory and how
this is clearly OUR story
and nobody else’s. “Hall of
Fame” (The Script) is
about rising up and
reaching that level that we
aspire to be.

we used to strengthen
ourselves and come
back even stronger

● I don’t want a big flashy set with huge set pieces.
● Something similar to what Legacy and Bella did, just with
a bigger structure.
● Have it be 5 pillars with a piece at the top to connect extra
lights so we can play with those.
● For images, just go crazy and add things that may relate
to the sport or storyline you want to communicate.
Final Thoughts
● This set has many complicated elements still in my head that need to be
worked on extensively, like very upbeat choreo and how on earth we can pull
off those costume changes.
● Not everything will work, but I’d love to see changes made to this set to make
it better.
● It may not be the most original or complicated, but I feel it speaks to me, and
honestly to LN Choir.
● I had a lot of fun doing this.
