Show Choir Set Idea

Theme- Infection
There is an infection on the loose (no not COVID-19) and people are very
confused and have no idea what is going to happen in society. Later on, the group
figures out that this infection is spreading and getting worse and they want to know
how to fix it and eventually ended up giving up and letting it take over. The
infection begins to take over and everyone in the group becomes infected. The
infection has been taken over and the group goes along with it and embraces it.

Opener: Perfect World by Huey Lewis and the News-the group is happy and believes that there is
nothing wrong in the world and that there is definitely no infection coming for them. (This is the same artist
who did Hip to be Square and I like how this song is very different compared to the next songs and can be

2nd Number:Crawling in the Dark by Hoobastank- the idea of the infection is slowly coming upon them
but they do not want to give up, they are “looking for the answer” as stated in the song. (Although it is
kinda like a rock style, I feel like the song could be arranged very well to for the theme.)

Ballad:You Lost Me by Christina Aguilera- The group has given up and have come to realize that they
are going to be taken over by the infection. (I would like to use the whole song and the song is not difficult,

Guys number/male trio: Poison by Bell Biv Devoe- the infection has finally taken over everyone, but
the guys/or trio is warning the audience what is about to come. (I would prefer a trio, so everyone can be
apart of the introduction of the infected, but it can be a really cool guys number as well. Because this song

Girls number/everyone minus trio: Disturbia by Rihanna- the infection has came and the group or girls
are now in new costumes ready to bring the infection on. (I would like to use a lot of free form in song to
really give the infected effect and I would only like to use half of song because it can be repetitive and

Closer: The Infection by Disturbed- just another continuation of everyone being infected. (This song is a
little weird when you hear it, but there can be a really cool EDM or bass guitar dance break in this piece

I really like the shade I would like some
of purple, but I would more green in this
not mind a dress with because I wanna give
really big ruffles like that green and purple
North Central “poisony” type effect.

Final Thoughts
I feel like this would be a show that Legacy has never done before because for the
past couple of years, Legacy has done some pretty positive/happy shows and this
would show a nice contrast and really show what what we can do. I personally
really enjoy dark shows and I feel like others can agree. I would also like to
incorporate some fog machines for when the infected come out and I know the
marching band has some, so we could definitely borrow them. There is also some
choreo suggestions and ideas that I have for this theme that I think would fit really
well, and I also want to incorporate some action during the transitions of songs to
fit the story as well. Obviously, I have plenty of ideas so if this is interesting to you,
I am free to talk if you any questions about this idea and I hope you consider it or
at least want to do something like this. Although I think you will pick out an
amazing show, I hope you can consider mine for next year.
