A Gatsby Party

A Legacy Concept By Kiara Barlow

 Overall Concept
We start off the show in normal casual 1920s attire. Through
the first three songs of the show, we are waiting for the party of
the year, life is boring, we are going to have the time of our
lives, and so are the judges. When we have our costume
change, girls will change into the most well known style of
dress from the era, flapper dresses and boys change into
eye-catching gold suits and it's PARTY TIME. The last song of
the show is the funnest part of the show, HIGH ENERGY
craziness that wows everyone and boom grand champ!

This song really

follows the theme
and if it is arranged a
little differently, would
be a great opening
number.
 Character Song
All Night Long- Lionel Richie

I really like the vibe of this

song and it fits the party
theme of the show. I would
make it the character song
because it’s also a funny
song that I feel like is kinda
hard to be serious to.
 Ballad
All I Wanna Do - Sheryl Crow
This song is
talking about
wanting to have
fun and party so it
fits the theme
well!! I imagine the
song slowed
down, some lyrics
changed, and it
would work.
 Costume Change
A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We
Got) - Fergie, Q-Tip, Goonrock

Boys Only: Beginning - 0:43
with a longer dance break and
needed adjustments so girls
have a reasonable amount of
time to change, with the
costumes being used, girls can
have their second outfits on
under their first so it can be a
fast and easy change
Girls Only: 0:44 - 1:40 with needed
adjustments for changing times.
Boys can wear their second pants
under their first pants, use the
same dress shirt for a suit jacket
and the vest so all they have to do
is take off pants and sweater and
throw on a jacket and a clip on bow
tie.

All: 1:55 - End, the rap part of

this would be a female solo
(has flexibility to be split into
two or three parts for different
people)

The Time - Black Eyed Peas
I think if this song
was arranged
correctly it could
be a very cool
closer. The song
is so high energy,
the choreo for this
song would be
OUTSTANDING.
There are many
opportunities for
dance breaks and
solos!
 Background/Special Effect
(using the same method as last year)

First and Second Song: Costume Change and Closer:

white will show a
contrast later with the
party backdrop.
Ballad: The skyline of
a city, showing the
night before and still
having that “boring”
effect
A picture of a party with
fireworks along with colored
lights will add to the closer and
just pull it all together!

 Makeup

Makeup would look relatively similar to the

photo. Just a Black smokey eye with gold
shimmer on the lid and a red lip. I picked
gold on the lid because it will be a nice pop
when everyone is in gray clothes but then
after the costume change it will coordinate
with the boys’ jackets.
 THIS IS THE SHOW
This show is the one because it's all about having
fun, living your life in the moment and just partying
like it’s the end of the world. This show has
contrast and potential for a very energetic
performance. This show is sure to satisfy the
audience and most importantly the judges,
because who doesn’t want to party like Gatsby?
