NARRATIVE REPORT

In line with the DepEd’s advocacy to promote and enhance career guidance,

the department recently conducted Career Guidance Congress held at Gloria

Municipal Gymnasium last November 7-9, 2018 with the theme “Sa Karera Mo,

Kaakibat ako”.

The 3-days seminar was fruitful starting at day 1 which covers the arrival and

registration, opening program and topic about Trends and challenges in the conduct

of Career Guidance for Millenials which was discussed by Marie Joyce F. Manahan

followed by Understanding Labor market for Decision Making emphasized by Gene

Michael Jen Musni a DOLE officer immediately followed by the Registered Guidance

Councilor of Dangay National High School, Mary Grace Famorcan with her topic

Developing the future Workforce, Skills to succeed Among Our Future Workforce

was also highlighted by Joanne Manjares of Domingo Yu Chu National High School.

Day 2 MOL was initiated by the schools in the First District of the Division. Dr.

Oscar Linga led the floor for some reminders. Topics for the day was delivered

starting from Developing the Future Workforce: DOLE Perspective discussed by

Rhenejim Jhun Dela Cruz of PESO Office, RA No.10931 (FreeTertiary Act Education)

and CHED Scholarship by Elvi Escarez Of MinSCAT and Uderstanding Different

Career Options by Bernadette C. Gonzales. Group Challenge was also performed by

the participants which includes building of house made by colored papers and

scotch tape.

Day 3 activities covers Developing the Future Workforce: TESDA Perspective

by Edwin T. Andoyo, DOST Scholarship with the DOST Representative which


discussed the allowances and procedures on how to avail DOST scholarship and

lastly, the presentation of the prepared Action Plan for Career Guidance.
