Lesson Proper

Day 1 (Meeting 1)

Objectives

1. Be oriented of the subject Mathematics

2. Comprehend with the Course Description and Grading system used in grading
3. Familiarize with the subject requirements
4. Understand the classroom rules and regulations

Activity

Students will answer a 26-item pre-chapter test.

Analysis

1. What are the topics that you have already expected to encounter appeared?
2. Are you familiar with the recent Grading system used in K-12?
3. Aside from the requirements given to you, do you have any suggestions on what are
your needs for this subject that will help you throughout this school year?
4. Do you want to add/subtract some rules if given a chance and why?

Abstraction

Application

The students will do the 3-2-1 activity. They will give 3 things that gathered their interest,
2 things they find difficulty and 1 question in their minds.

Day 2 (Meeting 2)
Objectives

1. Determine the readiness of the students towards the first.

2. Show honesty and accuracy in answering the pre- chapter test

Activity

Students will answer a 26-item pre-chapter test on page 3 from the work text.

Analysis

1. Which items did students find easy?

2. Which items did they find difficult?

Abstraction

Pre-assessment allows the teacher and student to discover what is already known in a
specific topic or subject.

Application

List ways on how to be academically prepared this school year. Have some proper time
management rules for yourself.

Day 3 (Meeting 3)

Objectives

1. Recall the laws of Exponents

Activity

The students will review the laws of exponents and distributive property of multiplication

Analysis

1. How do we multiply polynomials

Abstraction

Multiplying Polynomials requires two prerequisite skills. You must be able to apply the
laws of exponents and the distributive

Application

A 10-item test will be answered by the student.

Day 4 (Meeting 4)

Objectives

1. Recall the steps to obtain the product of polynomials and perform the operations with
skills and accuracy.
2. Determine the special product of the Square of Binomial
3. Determine the special product of the Square of Trinomial

Activity

The students will review on how to square a binomial and a trinomial.

Analysis

1. How do you square a binomial?

2. How do you square a trinomial?

Abstraction

The square of any binomial produces the following three terms:

1.   The square of the first term of the binomial:  a2
2.   Twice the product of the two terms:  2ab
3.   The square of the second term:  b2
The square of a binomial is a perfect square trinomial.

The square of a trinomial, consists of:

1. the sum of the squares of the first, second and last terms;
2. twice the product of the first and the second terms;
3. twice the product of the first and the last terms; and
4. twice the product of the second and the last terms.

Application

The students will answer the ff:

Exercise 1.1.1 A-B(1 – 5 ) and
Exercise 1.1.2.A ( 1 – 5 ) on page 5 and 7 of the worktext.
