Competency for the Dry run

The learners should be able to:


a. Define perimeter
b. Use a ruler to get the perimeter of some objects
c. Find the perimeter of a polygon

A. Motivation
Ask the students to take note of the whiteboard, which is enclosed by a tape, the fence in a
garden, or a picture frame. Tell them that they indicate the perimeter of polygons.

B. Structured Discussion
Ask the class to bring out their rulers. Let them describe what they see in the ruler. Tell the kids
that they have to measure the sides of the objects and get its total length.

Measure the perimeter of the following objects using the centimeter scale
1. school ID
2. a short bond paper
3. cover page of the Math book

C. Guided Practice
Teach the students that to find the perimeter of polygons, they have to add all sides.
Answer page 432 “Let’s Work Together”

Answer p.434-435 A and B of the Math book.
