COVER LETTER

Umberger Inc met many goals in the year 2019, this annual report will look at some of our

strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. This security company will continue to grow

and change and we will meet many challenges along the way. It is important to us that we

continue to move forward with out mission and values as our core where we protect all in any

and every way possible while taking care of our own as well. We are always looking for ways to

improve upon our foundation that we have built and increase the success of those who are apart

of Umberger Inc. We have been so fortunate with our team members as they are all highly

skilled and ready to move this company forward. Over this first year of business people have

come to us for protection of self, loved ones, information and assets. We pride ourselves in

knowing that our clients can count on us. We look forward to expanding this organization and

finding new ways to protect those we serve with our team members in mind.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Umberger Incorporated began from a childhood dream in a family of people in the protection

services. Our trained professionals began our first year of operation offering any kind of security

detail no matter the condition. We operate with professionalism and confidence that makes our

clients feel safe. Our mission is to protect what needs protecting. Our values include doing what

is right, acting with courage, taking care of our own team members so that they have the

confidence and skill to take care of our customers. We want this family owned company to grow

and be the number one provider for all security needs. We plan to shift our focus in the next year

to launch at home security alarms that are our own design and our own technology. This

expansion has not stopped since we started and in our first year our growth has come at a very

sustainable level. Our company strategy is to continue to grow at a sustainable rate and we think

that with the right connections and the right team we will continue to succeed at this.. Our

competitive edge is that we have a ‘no such thing as mistakes’ motto, they simply do not exist.

They cannot exist when something like a human beings life is on the line. We are able to say this

confidently because we have experienced and skilled team members who are precise and very

sharp. We do extensive training and require a specific set of skills. We also require that our team

members act with professionalism and stealthiness. Whether its in person or online we want our

customers to feel safe without feeling like we are there. OUr business started very small and we

have expanded from a team of just eight to a team of thirty. We have a goal to continue with all

that we currently offer and the company contracts we currently hold as well as becoming the

number one home security provider. We will budget for prototypes, testing, employees,

technology and installation costs. We were very fortunate to have a team of skilled and

passionate individuals who drove our success this past year and we plan on taking this into the

next years to come as well.

COMPANY INFORMATION

Our company started in 2018 but the idea came many years prior. We are a small business and it

took a lot of effort to get launched and start rolling out services. This required meeting the right

people and bringing them along for the ride. Umberger Incorporated began with a long line of

family members involved in security of some kind or another. My father and his father were both

in law enforcement, and executive details. They protected many important and influential or

powerful people as well as their families. I always felt that this was a special kind of career

because it involves the potential for the ultimate sacrifice of self. I grew up asking many

questions about this business and often the topic of sacrifice would come up because as a child I

worried for my own family members on the line because what if they made a mistake and they or

someone got hurt. I came to find out that my father and his father believed that there was no such

thing as making a mistake in this line of work.They had complete confidence in their abilities

and never viewed it as something that could kill them in the moment. I think this confidence

aided in their success and the trust that others placed in them. I desired to be the person that

people could count on and even more so I desired to build an entire company that people could

count on. Umberger Incorporated sparked from an idea in my childhood and has grown into our

successful first year. We started with detail security for people who needed it for any event and I

knew that this was too small. Shortly after opening I became good friends with someone who

does IT for a tech company who then got me in touch with their digital security team. I was

surprised to find a large market for tech company security but after finding the right people this

has become a large part of our business.

COMPANY STRATEGY COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Many companies that find great success in the early stages suffer from growing to quick, it

actually becomes their downfall because the growth is not sustainable. Our line of work requires

highly trained people for each job that we have. You cannot secure anything without the right

professional for the job and sometimes this requires more than one. That being said, we take

much more time in our hiring process because we need to make sure we have a qualified

individual and then we take the time to train them to our standards. We control our growth

because we have a specific and slow process for finding new team members. We cannot accept

every job just quite yet until we have the individuals. Our customers understand this and respect

the fact that if we don't have the right highly skilled team member we cannot do the job. We will

not let our clients down once a job has been accepted. If we did just send anyone to every job we

could very easily expand too quickly but we could also very easily fail at fulfilling the task at

hand. We will not accept this for our namesake. Our strategy simply comes down to the

individuals we hire, integrity and always doing the right thing.

We plan to use our strategy of always doing what is right for our customers to gain their trust.

This trist alone will be our competitive advantage. In security it is critical that the client trusts the

company because they could have a lot more on the line than anyone else. We have many ideas

for our future expansions that will also give us an edge over the competition but with trust we

can go anywhere. People will tell their family members and their friends and we will be there

when they need us. We will be the company that families and friends can count on. We

combined physical security with technology security and that was the best thing we did to

advance our company because we can now be the number one provider for all security needs no

matter what they may be. There are many competitors for technological security, physical

security and home security but not really a company that can offer it all. We may be small right

now but eventually we will be able to grow into the company people call for it all.

The potential problems we may face in the future include expansion of pre existing companies as

well as cost of business versus income.We currently have contracts with other small business to

cover routine security for them which helps give us consistent income flow rather than single

jobs. We plan to reach out to more companies for this same service as well as schools for school

events. People feel safe when their is security and this is important to us. The goal is not merely

about profit is is about a family company making others feel protected and safe. We also plan to

launch our at home security line in the first quarter of 2020. We want to make these services

affordable for our clients so we can do this if we cover a lot of ground. We do have obstacles that

come along with attempting growth and sustaining growth but if we continue to operate with our

values at our core we will succeed. Protect those that need protecting.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Our first year has been a great success due to our team members and our clients. We are so

fortunate to have passionate, driven individuals who operate with integrity and the values of the

company at their core. We want to continue to grow and offer our services to all that we can. WE

started as a family company and we will continue to operate with those family morals and

values. The expansion of tech security paired with physical security has really boosted our

success and growth. The slow and precise onboarding process for new employees has also

helped keep this growth sustainable. We need to expand our clientele and offer even more

services which will begin early 2020 with the start of at home security systems. We also will

begin contracting out with other companies to offer our services for consistent work. We plan on

continuing to operate with our values at the root of all we do to ensure we are the company we

set out to be. If we are operating this way we will always be successful. This year took a lot of

work and planning but we finally have made the family company we have always wanted. We

look forward to all that comes our way in 2020 and the years following.
