Looking Ahead-
In this lesson you will learn about the different landforms of the Earth:
 Mountains, valleys and passes
 Plateaus, plains and deserts
 Coasts, peninsulas, bays and islands

Introduction-
 The different features that make up the Earth’s surface are called
landforms. There are four main landforms. These are mountains,
plains, plateaus and deserts. (Major Landforms)
Along with major landforms there are some Minor Landforms also visible
over the Earth surface. These are coasts, peninsulas, capes, islands, and
isthmuses.
Landforms are created and modified in there ways-
 Weathering- Water, wind and sunlight can change the shape of the
earth’s surface, is called Weathering.

 Erosion-The movements of rocks, pebbles, sand can also shape the

Earth surface, process is called Erosion.

 Significance of Biotic Components- Humans and Animals.

Activity-
-Now find out the Major and Minor Landforms from the picture given in
study material, and prepare a list on it.
