III. PROCEDURES
A. Preliminaries
Pre-assessment Activity
Identify the following equations if it is standard form or slope-intercept form .
1. x + 3y = 8 6. 3x – y = - 2
2. 15x + 5y = 75 7. y = -x + 8
3. y = 3x + 4 8. y = -2/3 x + 6
4. 5x + 4y = 8 9. x - 2y = - 6
5. y = 3x – 3 10. 3x – 6y = 18
B. Lesson Proper
1. Teaching Modeling
Developmental Activity
Change the equation in Standard Form and Slope-Intercept Form or y-form
1. 4x + 5y – 20 = 0
2. 3/5x = y + 12
3. 7x + 5y + 42 =0
2. Analysis
1. How did you find the activity?
2. How can you rewrite the equations in the form Ax + By = C
3. How can you rewrite equations in y = mx + b
3. Guided Practice
Rewrite the following linear equation in the form y = mx + b :
1. 3x – 2y = 0
2. 2x + y = 5
3. 15x + 7y = 21
4. 4x + 5y = 20
5. 2x – 7y = 14
4. Independent Practice
Write the following equation in the form Ax + By = C
1. y = 2/3 x + 2
2. y = -3/4 x – 1
3. y = - 4x + 2
4. y = 5x – 15
5. y = 2/5 x + 6
5. Generalization
A linear equation in two variables is an equation that can be written in standard form
Ax + By = C where A , B or C are real numbers , and A and B are both nonzero. An
equation takes the form y = mx + b , wherein m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
6. Application
Rewrite the following equations in the form Ax + By = C to y = mx + b and vice
versa.
1. 2x + y = 13 6. 3x – 6y = 18
2. y = 3x – 3 7. y = - 3/2 x - 4
3. 5x + 3y = 30 8. y = - 6/5x - 2
4. 5x – 4y = - 16 9. 4x – 5y = -20
5. y = -x + 8 10. y = 4x – 15
7. Assessment
Express the following in Standard Form to Y-Form and vice versa by matching the equations
with the “Much Awaited Festival in Cavite” to its municipality
IV. ASSIGNMENT
Follow Up
Write each linear equation in standard form
1. 3x – 4y = 8 – 4x
2. 3y – 5 + 4(x – y) = 6x
3. 𝑥 3 − 𝑦 4 − 1 2 = 0
