    I. INTRODUCTION

    Celebrating and getting to know our neighbouring countries is one


    of the most beautiful attributes towards appreciating diversity. In line with
    this, last August 24, 2019, The Migsulang Elementary School launches its
    ASEAN DAY with the theme : “ ADVANCING PARTNERSHIP FOR
    SUSTAINABILITY.” The different activities prepared by the teaching staffs
    of the school aims to develop appreciating different cultures of the ASEAN
    nations.

    II. ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED

    To celebrate the ASEAN DAY, the school conducted a SEARCH FOR


    MR. and MS. ASEAN. The said activity is participated by different students
    from Kindergarten to Grade VI. The said activity is hosted by Mr. Clark N.
    Arellano, one of the Teacher of the said school and followed by a prayer
    by Mrs. Cherry Agcang. The participants were dressed according to their
    choosen ASEAN NATION such as THAILAND, INDONESIA, BRUNEI,
    CAMBODIA, SINGAPORE, MYANMAR, PHILIPPINES, MALAYSIA, LAOS AND
    VIETNAM.

    The competition is tough but after all, the hailed MR. AND MS.
    ASEAN is coming from THAILAND, the kindergarten pupils, the both of
    them claimed the throne for this said event.

    III. PROGRAM IMPLEMENTED

    The said program, not only helps the learner to grow but also it
    helps them to appreciate the diverse culture of the our neighbouring
    countries. It enables them to really understand that their culture and the
    culture of others differs. It became their stepping stone towards learning
    new things, bigger things that later on they can apply it in their own lives.
    As a teacher, this are the skills that we must impart with them.

    IV. PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED AND SOLUTIONS

    To be honest, we have a lot of problems encountered a long the


    way, the preparations, the dresses, the speeches and many more. About
    the preparation regarding with this big event requires a lot of effort, the
    stage design, the sash, and the manpower but as a teacher, we make
    efforts to amend those things we lack. The dresses, the dresses that the

    pupils wear come from the effort of both parents and teachers, even
    though we lack in resources, the help of the parents really come in hand
    and the creativity of the teachers take place.

    V. RECOMMENDATION

    As a teacher, even though this activity is very laborious, I


    recommend that it should be included in every ASEAN DAY. Also, in line
    with this, may we suggest that the outfits or the dresses of the
    participants next time can be like made of recyclable materials just to
    make the show more exciting and fun but in the same time, we create
    treasures out from garbage. And also it promotes creativity among the
    pupils.
