Standards and Testing
Denim Fabric Standards :
Denim is a heavy woven fabric made from 100% cotton coarse indigo dyed warp and grey weft
yarn [8-10]. The traditional denim is rather hard and high density fabrics with high mass per unit
area.

Denim Fabric Testing :

Bursting test:
Bursting strength tester is a unique testing instrument which can easily and very accurately
calculates the bursting strength of sheets which are used in the garment bags. You just need to cut
out a sample in a circular shape similar to the instrument base and then place it over the testing
platform. After which the specimen sheets will be clamped strongly so that it ensure no slippage.
The sample from bottom will be given an inflated pressure using the diaphragm and form above
using the compression plate. This machine is operated manually but the digit and pneumatic models
are also available.

Project Scheduling :

Responsibility Matrix :

15 | P a g e
Risk Management :
Risk management is the process of identifying, assessing and controlling threats to an organization's
capital and earnings. These threats, or risks, could stem from a wide variety of sources, including
financial uncertainty, legal liabilities, strategic management errors, accidents and natural disasters.
As a result, a risk management plan increasingly includes companies' processes for identifying and
controlling threats to its digital assets, including proprietary corporate data, a customer's personally
identifiable information and intellectual property.

Risk involved in the project :

Third-Party Vendors( Attachment Tools):

Shortcomings on the part of third-party vendors can expose manufacturers to a variety of risks.
Cyber security weaknesses are of particular concern for any vendor with access to employee or
customer information.

Labour concerns :
Unionized workplaces can make it difficult to adjust employee contracts when necessary. For
example, the organization may be unable to lay off employees in slow periods of customer demand
or reallocate assets. Employees must be properly trained in order to maximize productivity and
reduce risks. They also must be compensated if they are injured, as well as replaced quickly so their
absence will not disrupt production.

Commodity and raw material prices :

A change in the price of raw materials raises the cost of production. This often leaves organizations
no choice but to raise their price, influencing their buyers and their reputation.

Federal, state/provincial, or local regulations :

Daily operations in the supply chain can be impacted by changes in laws and legislation that affect
the area the organization is operating within. For example, changes in minimum wage laws or
overtime regulations may increase costs rapidly.

16 | P a g e
Solutions for the Risk :
Vendor Management Best Practices
• Develop a plan. Make sure that clear roles and responsibilities have been established within
your organization regarding who will obtain documents from vendors, monitor vendor
performance, etc.
• Perform due diligence. An example of this is determining if your vendors are audited or
assessed by an outside party.
• Pull Reports. Identify reports that you should be receiving from vendors to monitor their
performance on a periodic basis.
• Keep monitoring. Good vendor management requires ongoing monitoring procedures to
make sure that the vendor continues to meet expectations.
• Review risk. Consider what types of data is accessible by your third-parties, what types of
transactions they perform, etc., to determine the risk associated with each vendor.
• Be resilient. Know what you would do if the vendor terminated their relationship with you
or if you find it necessary to terminate your relationship with them.
Vendor Management :
• Communicate: Hold regular discussions with subservice organizations to ensure that you
are aware of changes in the environment, and make regular visits when possible to gain a
better understanding of operations.
• Monitor: Monitoring can include reviewing and reconciling output reports, testing
controls at the subservice organization by members of the service organization’s internal
audit function, or monitoring external communications like customer compliance that are
relevant to the services provided by the subservice organization.
• Review: Review existing audit and assessment reports, such as Type 1 or Type 2 SOC
reports on the subservice organization’s system.
Labour Solution:
Working conditions and terms of employment. A client/investee should document and communicate
to all employees and workers (including contract workers) their working conditions and terms of
employment. These include their entitlement to wages and benefits, hours of work, overtime
arrangements and overtime compensation, and leave for illness, maternity, vacation or holiday, that
at a minimum comply with national law. This includes respecting a collective bargaining agreement
with a workers’ organization if there is such an agreement.

Substitute Lower Cost Materials Where Possible

Products can usually be manufactured utilizing a variety of different materials, depending on
marketplace requirements and the practices of the manufacturers. Technology is constantly
improving older materials and creating new ones, prices move up and down due to political goals
as much as supply and demand, and processing methods change.
