Why this virtual training?
The whole world is now pestilence
stricken because of a newly-born
microorganism called the novel
coronavirus. It is a new strain that has
not been previously identified in humans.
The universe never experienced this kind
of pandemic situation in history even in
the first and 2nd world war, where almost
all the human activities of the world are
stagnant at a time. All academic activities
stopped all on a sudden like others. After
the outbreak of Covid-19, educationists
are focusing on online education instead
of direct interactive traditional classroom
activities with physical presence.
Manarat Dhaka International School &
College (MDIC) is well aware of the changing
situation and very much ready to adapt and
cope up with this digital demand of time. To
respond with this inevitable changing
situation, classroom activities of MDIC have
already been shifted to Online Education
environment with asynchronous (not regular
time) format and could successfully
accomplish the live classes with proper class
routine in the last two months for the last
session 2019-20. Our online education will
continue throughout this duration of the
closure (lockdown period) until the
educational institution are declared open by
the government.
What is Online Education?

Online education is a flexible


instructional delivery system that
encompasses any kind of
learning that takes place via
Internet. Online learning gives
educators an opportunity to reach
students who may not be able to
enroll in a traditional classroom
course and supports students who
need to work on their own
schedule and at their own pace.

What is Online Education?

Online education includes


conducting live classes, conducting
online exams/tests/quiz
tests/assignments etc. and
continuous assessment with result
processing. A student will be able to
continue his/her studies by
attending the live classes/appearing
in the exams/join in face to face
discussion with faculties etc.
through online by using a simple
desktop or laptop or mobile phone.

All the faculties of MDIC have to maintain
google/gmail account.
 All faculties have to maintain section-wise students’
list with ID and parents’ phone number related to
his/her classes.
 Soft copy of all sorts of study materials (syllabus,
worksheet, question, answer, maps, diagram, graph,
multimedia presentation etc. for all classes) are
prerequisite for conducting online education.
HODs/coordinators/Year heads will ensure it.
Faculties will make sure of broadband internet
connection and backup mobile data at their own.
 Faculties are advised to set up a combination of
three apps (any messaging group;
WhatsApp/Viber/Messenger/telegram) ZOOM &
Google classroom in laptop/desktop and mobile.
All of these tools are entwined altogether.
2. Section-wise class Messaging group
• Teachers’-Students’ communication will
be maintained by a group on WhatsApp
(Viber/Messenger/telegram etc.)
• WhatsApp is now a very strong
communication tool and has almost
replaced the traditional mobile messaging
as it is very cost effective and capable of
sending messages to a group of people
instantly.
• There are so more apps for instant
communication. But we prefer
WhatsApp group as almost all the
faculties of MDIC are accustomed to use
WhatsApp by this time.

General instructions about WhatsApp
• Messaging group will be created section-wise
and maintained by the respective class teacher,
as admin, wherein subject teachers and all
students of that section will be the members.
• Vice Principals/Heads of the department must
be included in the groups for overall
supervision.
• Faculties and students must have their account
with their real name.
• Teachers will preserve the students’/parents’
mobile number in his/her cell phone as
accordingly: name, class-section, roll (Kazi
Raad 9C 07).
General instructions about WhatsApp
• Messaging group will be used for short
messages, notice, link of live classes & and any
other emergency purpose.
• Teacher-students’ communication and class
assessment of junior sections (both shifts) will
be done by WhatsApp group.
• Faculties of junior sections will upload their
video content, assessment sheets of google
forms in their respective google drive and
share the link to their WhatsApp group as and
when required.

Admin (Subject Teacher) of WhatsApp
groups are recommended to post the
Dos & Don'ts right at the beginning of
the group, such as:
• Students must be online as required to
get the necessary messages and link of
class and exams in WhatsApp group.
• Students are strictly forbidden to clog
the chat-box with unnecessary
chatting & messaging in the group.
• Students doing unnecessary chatting
and messaging in the group might be
removed from the group by the admin
without any prior notice

It has offset the physical


distance, brought us
digitally closer amid the
onset of this scary home
quarantine.
General instructions about ZOOM
• Online live classes (from Play Group–Class 12) will
be conducted through ZOOM Cloud Meetings. The
following instructions must be followed to conduct
online live classes through ZOOM
• Subject teachers will create a ZOOM account by
using his/her email account.
• Faculties will schedule a meeting (class) according to
class routine provided by the MDIC authority copy
the link and then send it to his/her respective section
in the messaging group for inviting the students to
join the class (at least one hour before).
• The host (faculty) should use randomly generated
meeting ID rather than using personal meeting ID.
• Instead of using default password, the host (faculty)
should set up his/her own password.
General instructions about ZOOM
• While scheduling a class, the host (faculty) should
enable the waiting room feature. It will facilitate the
host to check the authenticity of the participants
before allowing them to join the meeting.
• Class routine will be distributed in the messaging
group before starting the session but scheduled
meeting (class) link will be sent to the students one
hour before starting the class.
• Students must attend the class in due time by
mentioning his/her full name, class section, roll like;
Sadman Jamal 8D 22. Without the real name teacher
must not allow any student in the class.
• After joining the class student will write ‘yes sir’ or
‘present’ in the chat option. This will be counted as
his/her attendance then teacher will collect the
attendance.
General instructions about ZOOM
• All subject teacher must carry an attendance register of their
section while conducting classes. Subject teacher will
upload the absentee list in the WhatsApp group at the end
of each day.
• The host (faculty) should lock the meeting after 15 minutes
of starting of the class that will prevent further participants
from joining.
• Faculties must be prepared with soft copy of all study
materials with scheme of work and lesson plan well ahead
of time.
• Teachers are suggested to record the class and preserve it in
his/her own computer or laptop (it will help in many
aspects like attendance, discipline and so on).
• During the ZOOM class, faculties must be visible to
participants. Teacher will have control on audio, video and
chat option to carry on interaction in between the faculty
and students.
General instructions about ZOOM
• Faculties must be flexible to allow the students to ask
question at times to the faculty (in chat option) during
the class time, if required.
• Teacher must attend the class with proper official
outfit. Students must attend the class in college
uniform. For girls Hijab is must.
• ZOOM class room can also be used for conducting
Viva exams (keeping all the students in waiting room
and allowing them to enter one by one).
• All kinds of class controlling functions in ZOOM like
mute-unmute, annotation permission, remote control,
screen sharing (books, copy, solution etc.), chatting,
question-answer, raise hand, unwanted disturbance by
the students will be controlled by the subject teacher
(host).
So, get a ZOOM account. Have your works
done staying home!!!

4. Documentation & Assessment

Role of
Google
Classroom
in Online
Education
When traditional classroom activities are off across
the globe, Google classroom is working as a savior
to get your job done.
Purpose of Google Classroom
General instructions about Google Classroom
 All subject teachers will open an account
in the google classroom by his/her Gmail
account.
 Subject teachers will create section wise
classes in his/her google class room like
7A, 8D, 9C, ASD etc.
 Subject teachers will include all the
students of that particular section in
his/her group.
 After accepting the teachers’ link students
will be included in the class and student
will be able to see all notifications,
documentations etc. uploaded by the
teachers.
 Vice Principals/Head of the
departments/Coordinators/Yearheads
will be included in the related classes as
guest teacher for overall supervision.
General instructions about Google Classroom
 After completing live classes in ZOOM, faculties
will upload the study materials (home lesson,
worksheet, assignment etc.) in google classroom
within two days. Heads of
department/Coordinators/Yearheads will ensure
it.
 In case of uploading any document in the google
classroom, teacher must be aware of the content of
the documents (video, audio, link, home lesson
etc.) and carefully maintain the title, head line and
the instruction.
 Faculties will always maintain a students’ list of
his/her particular section.
 Faculties will preserve all the results (both auto
generated or manually) after every exam or
assessment in his/her laptop or google drive.
 All types of functions in goggle classroom like
documentation, taking attendance, uploading files,
preparing MCQ with automatic answer, short &
broad questions, preserving the marks & result and
use of all techniques will be done by the particular
subject teacher.
