STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Supply chain management has been defined as the "design, planning, execution, control, and
monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a
competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand
and measuring performance globally.

I Mohit Kumar completed my B.Tech (bachelor of Technology) in Mechanical Engineering in


year 2017 with 72.6%. I scored overall 7 bands in IELTS, which is the requirement of Douglas
College.

MY ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

I pursued graduation from Rayat Bahra Institute of Engineering and Biotechnology, Sahauran,
Kharar with 72.6% marks. I did 12th(Non Medical) in the year 2013 with 77.8% from Army
school Unchi Bassi (Central Board of Secondary Education) and I passed matric in the year 2011
with 8.8 CGPA from Army school Unchi Bassi (Central Board of Secondary Education). After
completion of B.Tech, I decided to pursue my higher study at international level. During my
college time, I was amazed by the role management played and it imbibed in me a great interest
for management subjects. This led me to choose a post graduate course which involves study of
the supply chain management. Another reason behind this choice was that, through such a course
I can get practical as well as theoretical expertise in managing domestic and international supply
chains related to various sectors.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Supply Chain Strategies are the critical backbone to Business Organizations today. Effective
Market coverage, Availability of Products at locations that hold the key to revenue recognition
depends upon the effectiveness of Supply Chain Strategy rolled out. Very simply stated, when a
product is introduced in the market and advertised, the entire market in the country and all the
sales counters need to have the product where the customer can buy and take delivery

The two year program in lnternational Supply Chain Management in Douglas college is designed
for students who have a bachelors’ degree and are interested in pursuing a career in a supply
chain role (ie: purchasing/procurement, warehousing, transportation, production/quality and/or
inventory planning). The program is designed to suit all bachelors’ degree holders regardless of
concentration, and will provide internationally relevant skills. The program provides students
with industry relevant job skills and preparatory knowledge to attain industry certifications
(APICS – CPIM, Lean Six Sigma).

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The nature of available job opportunities varies on previous work experience. Graduates of this
program may find employment as:

WHY DOUGLAS COLLEGE:

I want to go to Canada to pursue International Supply Chain Management (Post-


Baccalaureate Diploma) because of the ample research facilities and global exposure available
there. I will be completely equipped in terms of practical exposure, by being in contact with
people from different nations and working with the best technology. While searching on internet
and various universities and colleges for Post Graduation, I came to know that DOUGLAS
College provides the Post Graduation Course in International Supply Chain Management of 2
years

Douglas College is a public, non-profit college located in 700 Royal Avenue, New Westminster,
British Columbia, Canada. Students that are registered at Douglas College in New Westminster
shall be deemed students of a public college and as such, shall receive full credit from Douglas
College for all Douglas College courses completed at the New Westminster campus in British
Columbia. Douglas College is recognized by the British Columbia Education Quality Assurance
Program. BC's EQA designation is a provincial seal that is recognized globally as a symbol of
quality education and consumer protection.

FAMILY DETAILS

I belong to well educated family. Therefore, my family wants to provide me with best up-to-date
education. For this my parents are supporting me with their income and savings. I have already
paid full tuition fee of one year to Douglas College, Canada (fee paid receipt attached) and for
other expenses my parents are doing job and they are supporting me morally and financially for
fulfilling my dreams.

After completing my studies from Canada I will return to India and find opportunities in this
field of Supply Chain Management with advanced practical skills from Canada.

Based on my previous relevant qualification, funds, income, family and future planning I am
hoping for a positive result. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Please,

WHY CHOSEN STUDY IN CANADA?

I choose Canada to study because I think to be successful in anything you have to think at a
world level because without knowing the level of world minds, you can’t make a milestone in
the journey of technological era. Canada is a multicultural country and the level of education and
the exposure provided to the students is very high as compared to India .As much as I have
studied on internet about Canadian way of educating children, I just came to know about the
greatest of all techniques about teaching - practical approach, and I really love this. I really want
to study at a global scale, so I decided to go for Canada.
