STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am glad to introduce myself as Miss.Tanya Vipulbhai Bhavsar, was born on 14th July, 1997 in
Mehsana , Gujarat. I am always optimistic and alacritous from my school time. I have completed
10th (SSC) with 7.6 CGPA in May 2013 from CBSE then I passed 12th (HSC) in science stream
from CBSE in May 2015. After that, I enrolled in Bachelor of Civil Engineering at Gujarat Power
Engineering and Research Institute, Mevad, Mehsana which is affiliated with Gujarat
Technological University where I completed bachelors in May 2019 with 8.31 CGPA . My
course as a part of undergraduate study has helped me to get good knowledge of Elements of
Civil Engineering , Surveying , Building and Town Planning, Concrete Technology , Structural
Analysis , Railway Bridge and Tunnel Engineering , Building Construction , Highway
Engineering , Dock Habour and Airport Engineering , Geotechnical Engineering ,
Environmental Engineering , Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering , Management ,
Earthquake Engineering , Water and Waste Water Engineering , Irrigation Engineering , Urban
Transportation System , Structure Design and other.

Civil engineer works on various construction projects but often requires management abilities.
Studying the program construction management, I will learn different aspects of management
affiliated with the construction work. This course provides the knowledge of plan interpretation,
team co-ordination, time and budget negotiation, supervision of standards and progress of the
project, follow the legislation and guidelines etc. if I am wishing sparkling career in corporate
Civil Engineering field, I must have advanced and specialized knowledge and also I found that
the employee who has degree in construction management and that to form overseas get
promotion very easily with good remuneration. Thus, decided to study Construction
Management for my better career prospect. Intending to study abroad, I have appeared IELTS
exams on the date of 4th January, 2020 and secured with overall 6.5 bands.

After making the decision to study in abroad my next step is to figure out the best study
destination. As a result of thorough research, I realized that Canada is the best destination for
me. Why I would say so? Canada focuses on providing a high quality of education to its
students along with internationally recognized degrees. Canada is known to be peace – loving,
politically stable and a safe country which beliefs equality of all people regardless of where they
come from. Canada is a land of fusion of all religious, races and cultures and the people are
extremely warm and welcoming. Canada offers comparatively affordable education to
international students including Indians also. All in all, Canada resembles as a single roof
possessing all the attributes ranging from educational, residential and cultural that fascinated
me towards Canada for further education.

After finalize to pursue my overseas education in Canada, my following task was to choose the
best college. At an initial stage of my college selection, I came across to know about various
colleges from a different province, but I found that Conestoga College has so many
achievements and knowledge in education which will surely fulfill my dreams to become an
expert in the construction management field. It works towards completing the mission to provide
skilled and successful graduates in its nine campuses: Brantford, Cambridge – Downtown,

high and 94% of graduate find out the employment within six months to one year of graduation.

I have selected Construction Management Degree program at Conestoga College. Its a 2 year
full time study course. In which I will be studying and getting knowledge of different subjects
such as Organizational Behavior and Conflict management, Managerial communication,
Construction Law, Construction accounting and finance, leadership development, micro and
macroeconomics, construction cost and estimating and procurement, Statistics and Risk
Analysis, Construction Contracts and Documents, Construction Planning and Scheduling,
Capstone Project, Construction Safety and Site Management, etc. I will learn necessary
managerial skills required on a construction project and receive a comprehensive spectrum of
management topics such as Scheduling, estimating, safety, contract law, cost control,
tendering, and project management. Moreover, during my studies, I will participate in an
industry-supported capstone project where I will get practical knowledge more than just theory
and academics. By completing this course, I will fulfill my dream to be a successful
employee in the construction management field.

The pace of modernization is at the peak in my native country and construction is spreading
across the nation by leaps and bounds. Now, every city of my country contains skyscrapers,
supermarkets and eye- catching designs and hence, I am enough confident that upon
completion of this degree, I will easily reach to my goal of to be appointed at prestigious
designation such as a Project Coordinator, Project Documents Controller, Assistant
Construction Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Assistant Facility Manager and
many others in various multinational as well as well-reputed domestic companies of my
country like L & T, NCC, Gammon India, Simplex Infra, Unitech , Adani, Reliance Infrastructure
DLF India, Oberoi Realty, Prestige Estates, Godrej Properties Ltd., HDIL, NCC Limited, J.
Kumar Infra projects Ltd. and many more. By working at such designations in a reputed
company, I would acquire good experience and create professional relationships that
would directly help me to achieve my ultimate goal. As I know that India is a developing country
and industrialization is booming, the infrastructure sector will also soar that will ultimately create
a number of vacancies in this field in the near future.

Lastly, I would like to say that I possess all the essential attributes and qualities and I
will study enthusiastically and energetically and give my best to prove myself if a chance is
given to me. I request you to offer me a chance to study Bachelor of Construction Management
Degree at Conestoga College by granting my student visa before my course commencement
date, 8th September, 2020.
