tower).

3 Standards / Guidelines on Material Lifting

 Resources engaged in Lifting must be medically fit & trained on material lifting.
 PTW process must be adhered to for any material lifting activity
 Team must have at least one Supervisor and two rigger / hauler
 A lifting plan must be prepared & kept ready for the lifting activity which will have all relevant controls
for the activity
 Tool box talk must be conducted and all personnel involved in the lift should understand the lifting plan
to complete the lift within the expected duration
 Hand signals to be used must be explained to the team members.
 A drop zone must be identified and demarcated.
 No lifting must be done in inclement weather conditions like rain, fog, snowy and windy.
 A Pre- Lift readiness Assessment must be conducted which must include check on load limit, PPEs, tools
and equipment requirement. This must also include suitability of the anchor point for the pulley
checked
 Check the integrity and fitness of the lifting aids and equipment like rope, sling, carabiners, pulley and
the strength and suitability of the anchor point
 All tools tied off using appropriate tool lanyards for working at height to prevent fall of tools
 Minimum freeboard must always be considered in order to lift the load to the required height
 Appropriate anchoring procedures and methods should always be used when connecting rope rigging
equipment to the load and structure

 Check if the load is within the Safe Working Load (SWL) of the equipment like Crane, Pulley, rope
