Essay 17 – Living with parents after marriage

After marriage, some couples from many countries choose to live separately from each other and
they stay in their family house with their parents in contrast with the modern trend in occidental
cultures. From my understanding, I support those kinds of relationships for the reasons presented
below.

First, living in different spaces allow both to have independence and their personal environments
in the same time they take care of their marriage. For example, a husband could have a high
interest in keep practicing the sport he prefers and sharing time with their single friends who have
a strict schedule then it would be easier if there are not specific hours to come to home. Also the
woman is able to take advantage from her free time to maintain the progress in her career and
studies without thinking in chores and duties at home. Clearly, this free time will bring many
benefits for both unless they do not pay attention to their relationship in weekends.

Second, staying at home with parents allows them to save money and share time with them due
to the fact of sharing cost and spaces. Indeed, if they maintain their budget needs equal before
getting married they will be able to save money to support each other and to accomplish their
dreams. In addition, the time they share with family will increase because parents will always wait
the coming of sons even if they are late or older. In addition, this situation has advantages to
parents because they will have more time someone to support them in economic and emotional
ways. Undoubtedly, some people would have chosen this lifestyle if they had known the benefits
for the entire family.

Taking everything into consideration, the personal spaces and the economical and emotional
advantages of living with parents are good reasons to think about it as a reliable option to live in
this way even if some people believe that it is strange and prefer the more traditional approach
after marriage.
