COMPUTER AIDED CIVIL ENGINEERING LAB

Semester: 02 Duration: 3 Hrs.

Branch: Civil Engineering Max. Marks: 100

1. Draw the plan, section and elevation of a single storeyed school building of plinth
area not exceeding 300m2.

2. A fully paneled door is to be provided for an opening of 900 mm X 1800 mm in a


300 mm wall. Draw the elevation and cross-section of the door giving all the
necessary dimensions so as to enable the carpenter to complete the job without
any difficulty.
Specifications:
Chowkhat – 100 mm x 85 mm (Cross – section).
Top and Frieze Rails – 100 mm x 40 mm.
Lock Rail – 205 mm x 45 mm. Bottom
Rail – 180 mm x 25 mm.
Hanging and Meeting styles – 100 mm x 50 mm.
Thickness of panel – 35 mm and tapered to 25 mm. Three panels in a shutter.
Provide holdfast and tower bolts of suitable sizes. Chowkhats are fixed to the wall
by means of 300 mm x 45 mm x 60 mm iron holdfast 3 Nos. on each side.

3. Draw to suitable scale the cross-sectional plan, section and front elevation of a 2/3
glazed and 1/3 panelled double leaf door shutters with the following details.
Specifications:
Opening – 1250 mm x 2100 mm.
Sal Wood Chowkhats (frame) – 100 mm x 75 mm.
Thickness of shutters – 50 mm.
4. Draw to a suitable scale the front elevation, cross-sectional elevation of a fully
panelled window shutters for a window opening of 1200 mm x 1100 mm.
Specifications:
Window Frame (Chowkhat) – 100 mm x 75 mm.
Size of Styles and Rails –75 mm x 40 mm.
Thickness of panel boards – 30 mm.

5. Draw to a scale of 1:10 the front elevation, sectional plan and sectional elevation of a
glazed window for an opening of 1200 mm x 1100 mm. Size of rails and styles are 70
mm x 40 mm and thickness of glass 6 mm.

6. Draw to a suitable scale views to show the complete details of a double leaf
battened and braced door for a door opening of 1150 mm x 2000 mm. Sizes of
different members will be as given below:

Frame (Chowkhat) – 120 mm x 80 mm.


Battens – 145 mm x 30 mm.
Top middle and bottom ledges – 100 mm x 35 mm.

7. Draw the detailed plan, elevation and cross section.

Specification:
Foundation: Depth below G.L. is 135 cm. width of concrete (P.C.C.) footing 1:4:8 is
115 cm. thickness of concrete (P.C.C.) footing is 20 cm. The footing is of stone
masonry in cement mortar 1:3. First footing – width 85 cm, second footing – width
70 cm, height 50 cm.
Basement: Height of the basement above G.L. is 75 cm. Flooring concrete 1:4:8 mix
and 15 cm thick. Flooring finishes 1.5 cm thick: provide steps with rise 15 cm and
tread 30 cm. the basement is filled with sand.
Super Structure: Walls are of brick in cement mortar 1:5, 23 cm thickness, plastered
both inside and outside with cement mortar1:3. The main wallshave height of 375 cm
above Floor level.
Roof:The roof is sloping with rise 1 in 3. Roofing is of Mangalore pattern tiles. The
cave projection is 80 cm.
Window: Glazed panel window placed at 80 cm above floor level. W1: 1.5m x 1.4
m, W2: 1.2m x 1.4m.
Door: Panelled. D1: 1.0m x 2.1m, D2: 0.9m x 2.1m.
Ventilator: Glazed placed at 150 cm above the floor level.V: 0.9m x 0.6m.
8. Draw the detailed plan, elevation and cross section. (100)

9. Draw the detailed plan, elevation and cross section of a framed building for two
storeys for the given specifications. (100)
Living – 4000mm x 3000mm
Dining – 3600mm x 4000mm
Bath & W.C. – 2000mm x 2000mm
Bedroom 2 Nos. – 5000mm x 5000mm (One with attached toilet) Lobby –
1600mm wide
Steps: 300mm tread, 150mm rise
Windows – 1500mm x 1200mm
Door – 1000mm x 2100mm
Ventilator – 600mm x 900mm
Room height – 3000mm.
Assume all other details required. Draw Beams and Columns wherever necessary.
Draw to a suitable scale.

10. Draw the perspective view for a single storeyed building of area 150 m . Adopt
suitable scale.
11. Draw the perspective view for a hut having its pitched roof in the slope of 1 in 3 in

an area of 75m .
12. Draw to a suitable scale the ground floor plan, first floor plan, elevation and cross
section of an industrial building given below.

13. Draw to a suitable scale the plan, elevation and section of a Clinic with the following
specifications. (100)
Reception - 4000mm x 3000mm
Outpatients - 4000mm x 3000mm
Bed 5 Nos. - 2000mm x 3000mm (each)
Doctor’s Cabin - 4000mm x 4000mm
14. Plan a residential building consisting of two bedrooms, a hall, a kitchen and a toilet.

The total area of the building should not exceed 130m . The building

should have load bearing wall and pitched roof having a slope of 1 in 3. Also draw its
elevation and a cross section showing the slope.

15. a. Plan an industrial building of area 250m2. The building should have North light
truss.
b. Draw also the elevation and plan of the building in the previous part.
