SCHOOL LEARNING ACTION CELL ON TABLE OF SPECIFICATION (TOS) WITH AN

OVERVIEW ON TEST CONSTRUCTION

In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, or the Enhanced Basic
Education Act of 2013, the Department of Education (DepEd) issues the enclosed policy on The
Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing
Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning.

These SLAC will eventually prepare our teachers for the age of globalization. Their
attendance to these seminars will help create an effective learning environment, improve
teaching-learning situations, keep updated on modern instructional devices and inspire them to
become better teachers in the modern world. Since the department is offering free training’s
and seminars, teachers must grab this opportunity for self- improvement.

The LAC Session started at 10:45 in the morning, it is attended by 14 MAPEH Teachers of
Rosales National High School. The objectives of the LAC Session is to identify the achievement
domains being measure and to ensure that a fair and representative sample of questions
appear on the test; to ensure that there is a match between what is taught and what is tested;
and to construct a test which focuses on the key areas and weights those different areas based
on their importance. The importance of Table of Specification (TOS) with an overview on test
construction and other related information will be delivered through lecture – discussion aided
with Power Point Presentation and to be followed by hands-on/ workshop by the participants.

It was really an instructive and edifying event for the part of teachers. The awarding of
certificates was held in the MAPEH Learning Center wherein the participants received their
certificates. Indeed, the LAC Session was done successfully.
