I am writing this reference at the request of Dawn Harrell, who was a previous student of mine over the
past year and a half at Rasmussen College. I have had the pleasure of being Dawn’s Fundamentals course
instructor, lab, and simulation instructor throughout nursing school.

Dawn has several strengths I’d like to share. She is self-motivated and enjoys being challenged in the
clinical/simulation setting to improve knowledge and hands on skills. She has a very strong confidence
level, but is not scared to ask questions and seek out answers, which will shape her into a great nurse that
provides safe and appropriate care to patients. She has many personality traits that will make her a great
leader in any aspect of nursing in the future, as she pays very close attention to detail, multitasks with
ease, and handles stressful situations very professionally. She was always eager to learn and take
advantage of any opportunities presented. I am positive that Dawn will continue on after nursing school to
be an extremely caring and compassionate nurse that will always advocate for her patients.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Dawn Harrell for a position in an acute care facility, more
specifically, in an emergency care setting. If her performance is anything like it was when I had
the privilege of teaching her throughout the nursing program, Dawn will be a positive addition to your
