―November is ―Filipino Values Month. It seeks to promote greater

consciousness of values that are uniquely and positively Filipino – love of God and country,

strong family ties, care and respect for elders, diligence, patience, loyalty, hospitality,

bayanihan, generosity, regard for personal honor and dignity.

Family Day celebrates simple, everyday things parents do to connect with their

kids. The simple, litt le things you do with your kids make a big diff erence. These
acti viti es create strong, healthy relati onships that can prevent future problem.

On the whole month of November, Family Day brings together communiti es

across the country to celebrate the positi ve infl uence parents have on their

kids.

 In line with that, San Juan Baño Elementary School is annually conducting a program

to honor every Filipino family through a month-long celebration. This year’s Family Day

theme was “Mapanuring Paggamit ng Gadgets Tungo sa Makapagkalingang Ugnayan sa

Pamilya.” Various activities were held to sustain the enjoyment and happiness during the

event.

The festivities, which held on November 16, 2018 “was an opportune time for

families to relax and socialize as the students, parents and teachers participated and

enjoyed the bustling music, electrifying dances and exciting parlour games. These activities

enabled the students to recognize that the family provides a sense of belonging and a

unique identity to them. It also created a special emotional feeling in the students about

their family.

The celebration started with the assembly and registration for the parents together

with their kids. The program started at exactly 8:00 am. It began with prayer led by Mrs.

Lucila V. Batu (Grade III Teacher) followed by singing of our National Anthem led by Ms.

Irish M. Ignacio (Music Leader). The program warmed and graced by the message of our

beloved Principal II Mr. Randy S. Trono. Mind-bending messages from our Brgy. Capt.

Froiland M. Soriano and Councilor Lilia Soriano encouraged and inspired every parents and
students to continue their support to the school and build a better relationship among San

Juan Baño community.

The first part of the program was a parenting seminar, our invited speakers SB

MEMBER Ferdinand Kabigting, came and shared his expertise regarding Responsible

Parenting and Family Planning. San Juan Baño Councillor for Education Lilia Soriano

discussed about Duties and Responsibilities of Parents and our School Health Leader Oliver

O. Magpale gave his message to the parents about the importance of Good/ Proper

Hygiene. This allows them to share time together and learn positive messages for family

life, how to preserve their families, and the importance of team work within the family.
 Event host Sir Marvin Mallari and Ma’am Mary Grace Pegollo, entertained and

thrilled the crowd during the fellowship and announcement of the winners of the raffle

draw.
 Aside from that, the event was divided in different fun filled activities such as “Film

Festivals” kids watched different family oriented movies, Slogan Making Contest and

presentation from selected pupils.

 Photo booth was set up with different photo props and photo frame; the photos

would remain as a memory of this event. The parents as well as the children thoroughly

enjoyed all the activities of the event.

 Families also share a “boodle fight” style lunch. Afterwards, families play games and

participate in other recreational activities.

 The second part of the program was the recognition day for the second quarter from

Kinder to Grade VI received awards as their rewards for the job well- done. This will serve

as their inspiration and motivation to continue their journey, followed by as the parents

proceeded to their respective rooms for the cards out and PTA Meeting. It is indeed very

crucial to have a parent- teacher adviser conference since it is the best way to have feed

backing of pupils’ performance. It’s the best time to give pupils’ strength and weaknesses

for pupils’ improvement. This Family Day has been a great success and has effective served

its purpose.

                 Such celebration is indeed a remarkable one. It is just a concrete proof that every

education institute gives great consideration to every Filipino family.
