ASSESSOR’S GUIDE
NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS

1. To attain the National Qualification of HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATION NC II


(Rigid On-Highway Dump Truck), the candidate must demonstrate competence in
all the units listed below. Successful candidates shall be awarded a National
Certificate signed by the TESDA Director General.

2. The Qualification of HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATION NC II (Rigid On-Highway


Dump Truck) may also be acquired through the accumulation of Certificates of
Competency (CoC) in the following units of competency.

2.1. Perform pre- and post-operation procedures for hauling equipment


2.2. Perform basic preventive maintenance servicing for hauling equipment
2.3. Perform productive operation for on-highway dump truck (rigid)

3. Upon accumulation and submission of all CoCs acquired, an individual shall be issued
the corresponding National Certificate.

4. Assessment shall focus on the core units of competency. The basic and common units
are assessed concurrently with the core units.

5. The following are qualified to apply for assessment and certification:

 Graduates of formal, non-formal and informal including enterprise-based


training programs

 Experienced Workers (wage employed or self-employed)

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE COMPETENCY ASSESSOR

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATION NC II


Qualification:
(RIGID ON-HIGHWAY DUMP TRUCK)

Project: OPERATE AND MAINTAIN RIGID ON- HIGHWAY DUMP TRUCK

1. Prepare equipment, tools and materials to perform pre- and post-operation


procedures, equipment operation and basic preventive maintenance
servicing within one (1) hour.

2. The Assessment shall be based on the units of competency in the Training


Regulations and the Evidence Plan and will focus on the evidence gathering
methods below :

 Observation / Demonstration with oral questioning


 Written Test

3. Allow the candidate to familiarize with the resources to be used in the


assessment for 15 minutes.

4. Final assessment shall be your responsibility as Accredited Assessor

5. At the end of the assessment, you shall provide the candidate feedback on
the assessment results. The feedback shall indicate whether the candidate
is:

The quantity of tools and equipment to be used for the conduct of assessment for
this qualification shall depend on the number of candidates. The most important
consideration is to make sure that tools and equipment are adequately provided to
all candidates when needed.
