NARRATOR: There are two teachers in Nasipit Piit Elemetary School. Ms. Trady Shonell, is an
American teacher, while Ms. Atkham Bhes is an indian teacher. Although they have different
nationalities, they are both teaching in Elementary Education in Nasipit Piit Elementary school.
Ms. Trady Shonell and Ms. Atkham Bhes have similar goals, and it is to share their knowledge to
their students and for them to learn. However, each of them has their own ways and styles in
Teaching.
Ms. Trady Shonell seems cold. She doesn’t interact with her students that much.
Ms. Trady Shonell: Being strict is necessary to get work done in class.
Ms. Trady Shonell is the only one who usually speaks in front, while her students are just
listening to her quietly.
Discusses how to spell and read following words: clothes, vacuum, peculiar, february
NARRATOR: Lily, who is in the back did not hear clearly what Ms. Shonell have said, so shyly
raises her hand to supposedly ask something. However, as Ms. Shonell’s stern look on her face
immediately faces her, she suddenly puts down her hand and decided to just keep quiet for she
feels overwhelmed and intimidated with her.
Lily: Ms. Shonell, I have a question—
Ms.Shonell faces Lily
Ms. Shonell: What is it Lily?
Lily: N-Nothing Ms. Shonell.
Ms. Shonell: Quit playing around Lily, and listen.
Lily: Y-Yes miss.
Ms. Shonell: Okay class, practice spelling and reading those words that are found in your books
and everything that I have discussed this whole week. I will have a quiz about it tomorrow,
understand?
Students: Yes miss.
Ms. Shonell: Now take your lunch and I’ll be back.
Nelly: Shocks, some of the words were hard, right Brenda?
Brenda: Yeah, I don’t even remember some of her lessons, what should we do?
Lily: I wanted to ask her some questions, but I’m scared that she might scold me.
Narrator: As Ms. Shonell’s class takes the quiz, many of them got low scores. Ms.Shonell got
so disappointed with the result. Little did she know, she and her students were not interacting and
collaborating enough to better understand and learn.

Ms. Atkham Bhes on the other hand, is more hands-on with her class. She gives her students a
chance to speak and voice-out their opinions and ask questions, because she believes that asking
questions is part of the learning process.. However, when the class would become more rowdy
and noisy than usual, that would be the time that she would discipline her students, because that
is one of the responsibilities that a teacher must do.
Ms. Akham Bhes: Be friendly, but not a friend.
She also understands that elementary students are naturally hyperactive. That is why, she would
prepare activities that will make her students play and learn at the same time.
Their current lesson is about spelling and reading words, so she decided to let her students play
the game “Invisible Man” in which spelling and reading skills are being developed.
Ms. Atkham Bhes: Okay class, do you want to play a game?
Students: Yes, Ms. Bhes!
Ms. Atkham Bhes: Great! Now the class will be divided into two groups. Each group will have
to draw a stick figures on the board, each figure must have the same number of parts. After that, I
will give each team a world to spell and read, whoever spells it correctly will erase one piece of
the stick figure. The first team to make their stick man invisible wins the game. Got it class?
The class responded excitedly
Students: Yesss!
Narrator: Meanwhile, while everyone is getting ready, Lenny wants to clarify something about
the game, so she raises her hand. As Ms. Atkham Bhes saw her she then notices it and let her
speak.
Nelly raises her hand
Ms. Atkham Bhes: Yes? What is it Lenny?
Nelly: What about the group who spells the word wrong, miss?
Ms. Atkham Bhes: Good question Lenny, sorry I forgot. You can sit down now, thank you. If
you spell it wrong, leave the stick figure unchanged, then repeat with two new words. Thank you
for asking Lenny, any other clarifications?
Students: None so far miss.
Ms. Atkham Bhes: Okay, let’s start!
Narrator: And so the game starts. Ms. Atkham Bhes students were lively and interactive. Her
ways of teaching makes the students more motivated to learn about many things. It also
minimizes the characteristic of children who are easy to get bored. In that way, her students
learns while having fun, which elementary students needs since they are still developing.
