Exercise: The number of houses built in Derby and Nottingham

If we look at the bar chart we can see different trends. The number of houses built in Derby soared
from almost 48 to almost 110 between 2000 and 2003 and then it remained basically constant
until 2007. From this year the number of houses rocketed to almost 350 in just two years.
The trend of for the houses in Nottingham is quite different. From 2000 to 2006 the data
fluctuated between almost roughly 75 and 5. In 2007 there was a sharp jump of almost 190 houses
built, but the next year the number reached the lowest point plunging into to just a few buildings.
In 2009 the trend changed again and the number peaked at 250.
Generally speaking, if Derby’s data shows a regular trend, in Nottingham we see an a more
uncertain situation.
