Street and musical performance is very
welcome in the central streets and squares
of Copenhagen, as long as you follow a set
of simple rules.

Street performance without music

When and where


• Performance without music is allowed all days
10.00-20.00.
• You must move to a new location every hour
– minimum 100 meters away.
• You may not perform within a distance of 100
meters from a location where you have already
performed the same day.

Rules of conduct
• You may perform alone or in groups of two or
three. Groups of more than three persons must
obtain permission in advance on:
www.kk.dk/arrangementer.
• Your performance must not cause inconvenience
to local residents or shopkeepers.
• Your performance must not hamper traffic or
accessibility.
• You may not play music or use any form of
amplifiers as part of your act.
• You may not collect money or sell anything.

Performance is  allowed within the
following time frames:

Strøget including Gammeltorv/Nytorv,


Amagertorv, and Højbro Plads:
Monday – Friday 17.00- 20.00
Saturday – Sunday 14.00 - 17.00

Rådhuspladsen and Kgs. Nytorv:


All days 07.00 - 22.00

Other parts of Copenhagen:


Monday – Thursday 16.00 - 20.00
Friday 15.00 - 20.00
Saturday 10.00 - 17.00
Sunday 12.00 - 17.00

Rules of conduct
• You must move to a new location every hour

Sound level
• You may not play louder than the acoustic level
i.e. 60 dB (for instance singing or playing violin).
• You may use an amplifier if your electric instru-
ment requires it, but the sound level must not
exceed the acoustical level i.e. 60 dB (for
instance singing or playing a violin).
• If you perform in a group, the overall sound level
must not exceed the acoustical level i.e. 60 dB.
• You may not use a microphone for singing.

No money
• You may not collect money or sell anything
