ADVISORY No. 04
September 12, 2020
With the necessity to adapt to the current situation brought upon by the pandemic, the University
provides assistance to its faculty members in extending communication platforms to students in
preparation for online classes. Apart from the institutionalized Learning Management System (LMS)
developed to aid the teaching-learning process with features parallel to incorporated activities in the
traditional setting, various mediums of communication may be utilized.
Hence, faculty members may be able to reach students through their RTU email addresses.
These can be found in the official class list in the RTU Employee Portal. The list is comprised of enrolled
students in a specific course as well as their email address. Once the system generates the class list,
the faculty member will also be able to download the document into a PDF file.
As the student’s email address is displayed, it does not limit the communication channel solely
to the utilization of email. On purpose, all the faculty members are presumed to have their RTU email
address. In this way, a recognized and official account will be of use in answering queries and
disseminating information or updates along with other recommended contact details. It also entails
legitimacy and prevention of misinformation.
Further, the assessment and submission of online tasks may still be coursed through several
options such as social networking sites, LMS, e-Learning applications, or delivery if off-site materials
are used. In like manner, both the faculty and the student can formally exchange pieces of information,
questions, and clarification via email.
Enclosed is the incremental process of knowing the student’s email address through access in
the Employee Portal.
