Fashion Tips to Become an Awesome Millennial

Glen Simonette T. Ibea

Nowadays, teenagers like me often find it hard to pick outfits to wear for a day. Not denying the
fact that everyone is conscious about how they look physically. But why do we even have to match our
outfits? Is it a necessity in today's generation? Well, the answer is yes. Lame or petty as it sounds but
today, looks matter than the attitude. It's a sickness of the society. Everyone struggles to fit in. But what
really makes us 'fit' is being ourselves... being unique.

Today, I'll share with you some of my secrets in expressing myself and not giving a care in what
the world will say. It still matters though, but you cannot let anyone paint what you are. You hold the
palette and the brush, and you are the artist of your own canvas.

Korean 'ulzzang' fashion. For teen girls, it mostly consists of croptops, jogger and skinny pants,
caps, and sneakers. You'll most often see girls wearing fitted shirts inserted to ripped jeans short,
though. Those are american street fashion. They would usually partner it with black caps and often with
pink or clear rimmed glasses. The shoes would consist of sneakers, and it would not be complete
without the aid of string bags. In my case, I sometimes whip up a combination of those two, wearing
croptops and ripped jeans with sneakers. Most people think it's easy bringing up those clothes but trust
me, it's not. Fashion tip 101: better plan your outfits ahead of the occasion, either the night or the day
before you will wear it. Fashion tip 102: have someone critic your chosen outfit, preferably your
bestfriend or your sister. Some combinations might look off so you'll need to consult the advice of
someone, better if that person has a sense of fashion. You're planning to wear a killer-rock outfit, not
something for a costume party. Do not overdress, its irritating to look at. Fashion tip 103: when buying
clothes, choose to shop in 'ukay-ukay' stores. They usually have those cringe-worthy killer shirts that
could spice up your look. Not only shirts, but shoes could also be found there in affordable prices.
Fashion tip 104: if you want to look glamorous, also tend to your hair. If you have curly hair, make sure
it's always combed well, and keep it clean and shiny using shampoo and conditioner. If your hair is
straight, keep it sliky straight and well-combed. People won't be impressed even if you have a killer
outfit but your hair... well... sucks. Learn how to properly groom your hair, by using coarse-toothed
comb, and by using conditioners to keep it shiny and fragrant. Fashion tip 105: apply light make-up. I
repeat, Light Make-Up only. Avoid using foundations or BB creams too much, instead, settle for face
powders(pulbo) and liptint. It's cheaper, yet practical. Ays ba? Last fashion tip, 106: Walk with pride.
Don't slouch, don't look down, and maintain a nice goody-good girl smile. Now, that's your invisible
crown.

I think I have covered about all of it. Oh well, my fashion secrets aren't secret anymore. Just
remember that in choosing for your OOTD or outfit of the day, be practical, keep it simple and give off a
rockstar vibe with the aid of your charisma.
