New valve mechanism for unit injectors

Background
In the ongoing design work concerned with im-
proving engines and their service life, certain
modifications to the valve mechanism for unit
injectors have been introduced.

Production solution
A new valve mechanism with different ball ra-
dii has been introduced. The radii have been
changed from 8 mm to 10 mm. This leads to re-
duced sliding surface stress with longer service
life as a result.
IMPORTANT! Parts of different radii must
under no circumstances be used in the same
engine.
IMPORTANT! Always check the radius of the
balls and sockets before ordering new parts.

The radii R have been changed from 8 mm to

10 mm.


