Bushing kit for front axle


AM/AMA56, AM/AMA61 and AM70
Service kit, part No 1 355 387 Service kit part no. 1 355 387 contain-
ting.
Front axles AM56/61/70 have taper roller bea-
ring at the king pin lower end. A bushing type Part Name Part No.
bearing is now introduced as a service kit. The
bushing has higher friction than the taper roller Shim 132 713
bearing. The sensitivity for road wheel imba- Shim 132 714
lance vibrations in the steering wheel, is thereby Shim 132 715
reduced.
O-ring 811 045
The bushing type bearing should preferably be Bottom cover 1 355 233
mounted on the side of the front axle which is Washer 1 355 235
closest to the steering gear, but could if wished
be mounted on both sides. The kit contains Grease nipple 806 312
details for one side. Wear washer 1 302 890

Mounting description Setting

• Lubricate seal and bushings. The grease


must be spread over the whole bushing sur-
face and fill all the small pockets.
• Lubricate and place the washer and the
O-ring around the upper bushing.
• Press the sleeve on the king pin.
• Ensure the bore in the axle beam and the 89.3 − 89.5
king pin are clean and degreased.
• Place steering knuckle on the axle beam. 84.6 − 84.8

• Push king pin up through the axle beam.


Press in king pin with 150 kN. Press force.
• Protect the bottom surface of the sleeve for 29
damage, use brass shim etc. 50

• Place the bottom cover with the O-ring, 8


2 mm packing shims, washer and wear was-
