Cylinder block/liners as spare parts, 11-litre engine

Improved cylinder liner seals at the lower liner


guide is introduced in all 11-litre engines except
transverse engines for BR and N buses.
The new seal requires new cylinder block and Old style
liners.
Since previously BR and N buses have had the
new execution liner seal, block and liners. The
same type of liner seal is used in 9 and 14-litre
engines.
The difference between the old and the new
liner seal is the upper seal. It is higher and the
sealing properties areimproved, see figures
opposite. The figures also illustrate the different
between block and liners of old and new style.

ment bosses on the block, where the turbo
compound unit or starter motor is to sit, must
be cut level with the block surface.

3) Engines made through engine numbers


Scania Södertälje 880 839 and
Scania Nederland 152 900
have the oil pressure reduction valve in the
oil sump. To fit this execution plug 136 777
has to be removed. See figure 2.
