1. What is the film all about?

Pluma: Rizal ang Dakilang Manunulat” attempts to trace the evolution of Rizal, showing how Rizal
was able to document parts of his life that is reflected from his writings—from his birth up to his last
moments. The documentary also highlighted parts of his life that made a big impact influencing his
patriotism; the incident when Teodora Alonso was accused of poisoning, the death of the
GOMBURZA priests, and also his controversial speech that he made in honour of his friends’
achievements.

2. Cite a specific situation in today's society that can be related to what the film depicts.

Today’s Society situation like having an early education for the children, they can start to go to school at
aged of 5 in Kindergarten 1 and it is related to the first part started with the birth of Rizal up to his early
education. While there was no definite measurement of being a genius during his time, Rizal was
noticeably gifted. He showed exceptional talents in painting, molding, sculpting and writing. But it was
writing which served him well. At an early age, he wrote the “Memorias de un estudyante Manila”,
which is about the memoirs of his childhood. At 8 years old, he wrote the famous: “Sa Aking mga
Kabata”. Therefore, Early Education can show early notice of talents, skills, potentials and knowledge as
young as he/she right now and able to have a great minds and knowledge for the future

3. What are your realizations or what lesson can you draw from the film?

I was totally admired to the idea of his intellect and pursuit; he wrote his life and works through his
writings. I realized that it is true that Dr. Jose Rizal fight our country using his pen and paper. Where in,
the pen is mightier than the sword, for swords can also use for fighting, however the pen and paper
which he used to communicate his ideas, possess a great and inspirsational words that awaken the
minds of Filipino people. And Dr. Jose Rizal is the great writer, our national hero, and a genius in his own
right.

4. How can that lesson be applied in your life.

It was mention above the learning that I learned from the movie and how it applied in my life is that, we
can stand and fight our own freedom and rights without using words or gesture or actions that can hurt,
violate or abuse someone just for your own good but instead we can prove them by showing our
achievements and goals in life. And also, by sharing on how you face all the challenges and problems in
life without minding the negativity, hurtful words, judgements, awful compliments and etc. You stay
positive and resilient in life and show your beautiful smile and be humble all the time.
