Activity 1

1. Give your personal response to the song, “Beautiful Life” by Bebe Rexha.

The song of Bebe Rexha, aside from being catchy and incredibly light, presents the beauty of
being alive despite the ups and downs of life. The heart of the track is the person’s struggle
through grief and having the strength to be vulnerable. There is beauty to this song particularly
for those of us who suppress sadness, for those of us who keep moving instead of allowing
ourselves to feel. And maybe for others, we are eaten by depression and stresses of life and that
might result to your loss of inspiration, and in some ways, your future. But take heart, life is
beautiful. There is something more to it that you need to discover along the way. And there will
be someone who will be there for you – to call you hers/his, to uplift you, to guide you and to
always make you believe that life is worth living for. Just as stated in the song, “You saved me
when I was my worst enemy.”

2. Listen to the SONA of President Rodrigo Duterte, then write its summary or the highlights of his
speech.

From the speech of President Duterte, he mentioned some lessons to be learned from the
Corona virus pandemic:
 It makes us realize the plans, effort, cost and time could diminish considerably and
quickly for reasons beyond anticipation.
 That it is much easier to destroy than to build
 That every aspect of human life is affected by a national crisis
 That government needs to have the full support and cooperation of the people
 That there are people who ask for compassion but show none themselves
 That life after all is fickle like the weather

The president then said that the road towards the comfortable life would all be far easy if the
pandemic had not occurred.
